Used my new combi and impact for the first time today. Considering I used to work with power tools every day as a joiner I can’t believe how far they’ve come in the last 8 years. The impact has brutal power! Money very well spent!

Ive already got a decent 240v one, but again when I start to need it more I’ll one to match the kit. If I buy every tool I ever need right now I’m then going to struggle to buy the materials that I need to actually do the jobs!

Thanks mate, good post. I haven’t quite hit buy yet on the Milwaukee kit but I think I’m going to.. I like the Makita stuff but I think I prefer the red stuff as an overall package for what I want it for.

I will buy it when I need it but at this stage I’ll be buying it and it won’t really be needed for maybe 3 months so not much point. I’m trying to be sensible. What do you have to play with?!

Thanks for the input, decided to bin off the SDS and 3rd battery for now as the first jobs I’ve got planned don’t need a huge amount of masonry drilling so I’ll add them on once things get a bit more exciting.

Edit scrap that, this one without Bluetooth ends up a bit cheaper and a case..

    Power Tool Perverts

Swapped the combi and impact from the Bluetooth gimmick as that’s a waste of time, so £640 to get things started I don’t think is bad value really...

No one wants Ryobi, I’m not buying them for my nephews to play with…. I think I ‘want’ Milwaukee but not sure if there’s any real substance to it!

Just wondered if there were any horror stories I guess. Only got the 12v impact wrench at the minute but that’s standalone as I need 18v for the tools I’m after so I’ve not committed yet!

So I need to start buying some gear for DIY projects at home, and I’m a bit torn. I know most on here have been touched by Milwaukee but for the kit I want to buy initially, like for like (ish) Makita gear is £150 cheaper. Ive had quite a lot of Makita in the past and always liked it so it...

    Bluetooth Speakers?

I bought 2 of these for £17 each. Properly loud so happy days. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B087NB71CR/?tag=cliospnet01-21

I bought one years ago when they first came out, pretty much the best £100 I’ve ever spent as I worked outside. Might even buy another just out of respect for it being such a good idea.

Thats annoying they won’t discount if you’re spending a lot. I’ve done a few of the kit builder things, prefer to pick exactly what I want as they all have 1 or 2 bullshit things in and as you say lower spec stuff. I‘ll keep my eyes peeled for what I fancy. For now I’m just happy the child’s...

Sds, combi, impact driver, probably a planer too and a splash of 5 amp batteries to start with. Got some DIY to get cracking on in the new house. Mate at work is trying to persuade me to go Makita instead of Milwankee

I’m after a few Bluetooth speakers for around the house and garage, anyone recommend something good and loud? Can be mains powered.

I blame Dan for not realising when I told him my 55mm socket was 1/2” that I clearly meant 1”. But in all seriousness am I better getting the 1/2” drive socket to use with 3/8 gun, or 1” socket on a 1/2” gun? Or just stick with my breaker bar and stop being a wimp like you lot?

If you find me a 12 point 55mm socket in 3/8 I’ll buy you a box of quality street.
