yeah, the error code for throttle pedal sensor is just what comes back for a multiple of things personally, id give the throttle body a clean, clean the wiring loom connectors up, clean the fuses in the fuse box and relays (especially the big white connector) clean the earths up and visually...

Sounds like it could be the common resistor pack that has failed, have a search on here for resisitor oack and loads should come up, if you want to diagnose if its faulty, Locate it under the drivers side scuttle panel, disconnect the connector going to it, big red/black one with VAG group...
