Yep, it’s his signature move.
Every 172/182 you see on the FB sales groups without caps, you know the score. He gets stick for it on FB and think it just motivates him now to keep doing it lol
He used to throw them away (or so he said) so at least the buyer got them.
Shame as a nice car...
Looks great.
I’d love a set on my 200. I will say, the stock split 5 spokes don’t look as bad in the flesh as they do in pics though!
Edited to say a set of 197 wheels are fine looking on a 197. I reckon 197 wheels in anthracite would be my pic on a 197. I say sell me the speed lines cheap...
Thing about mileage (which I do get regards mechanics) is that it’s well related to corrosion.
Being an MOT tester I can tell you a low mileage 20 year old car can look really good underneath. An average mileage example of the same car will look a mess of rust.
I’d love a mint low mile RB...
Went to do an aux belt the other day (noisy)
Tensioner pivot was seized, bearings for aux bit noisy, crank pulley rubber looked bad. So new crank pulley, tensioner & idler pulleys and aux belt.
Had a look at the timing belt while it was off, hmm bit oily (was due last year on time anyway) New...
Regards the storage POV…
I’d dish them out amongst dealerships for show, saves the storage issue. I’d probably set foot in a Renault dealer just to have a look at 001 trophy or a V6. Next thing you know salesman starts talking about lineage and red being a no cost paint option and… oops...
This is a great channel, worth subbing to and watching the old vids (especially the cossie one).
Always nice long vids and Guy has the right idea with the cars. Yes it’s subtitles only but well filmed.
Plush vids. He’s got quite a sense of humour, I used to help him when he was younger and we had fun doing it. He writes scripts and used to add effects to his story vids etc. The big vids are unboxing though, I know one of his vids went over a million last year. Look at the viewer...
My 13yr old son has a little YT channel he’s been doing since he was 11yrs old. Took a while to get to monetised level and he’s only got 5,500 subs but he seems to get a bit of pocket money out of it. Got £80 last month.
I’ve had a lot of cars and my V6 was up there in one of the most memorable stakes. They used to get slated on here when I had mine (“mY 182 DoEs 0-60 ThE sAmE”)
Was a total surprise for me as I took it in px for an Evo 6 RSX, a V6 wasn’t ever on the radar but the deal was too good. Loved it...
Got a pick of my Milwaukee against my mates snap on 3/8”, snap on is a lot better size and seems to be faster. Looks similar size to the 1/4” Milwaukee with an even sleeker neck. Shame they’re so bloody dear.
I’ve got a long one and I do think it’s more useful on the job. Great for poking into tight areas but obvious downside is sometimes being unable to crack stuff free with the length becoming a hindrance in that respect.
The way I justified the long neck was thinking worse case you have to crack...
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t I guess.
I tend to think the way some testers are is due to bad experience with past tests/customers. Things like the valve stem, you see it you advise it, simple as that. You don’t advise it and the customer’s on the phone when they have a tyre changed...
Even low mile FN2’s are getting dear. I got my Mrs an fn2 type r and she loves it (never had a sporty car before). It’s a nice car and has a huge load Carry with the seats down in the back.
Bad idea to rely on a ‘new’ engine. I can’t say I’ve looked but isn’t a £300 engine more 5 years ago? It’d also never be £300, you’d end up with an unknown engine, prob need belts doing, might as well do clutch blah blah. Then imagine getting it all in and it’s a turd.
the euro’s kit isn’t...
I’d prob buy a crank pulley too, at least have a good look at yours. If its not been done it will need doing now or soon. Never realised my last 172 one the pulley was shot til I started doing the timing belt. Held the job up getting one by the car was much smoother after. My current 172, the...
Yeah, me too. My 200 is covered now, had a double take this morning at the salt wearing, mud splattered, seagull-turd adorned filthy little slut as I got to work.
