get one while theyve got them ;)
Yeah dont faff with 8 bolts! what if the bolts from spacer to hub come lose but the other 4 are tight! you'll soon be in trouble
Just get some decent hubcentric spacers that use extended wheel bolts, so long as they arent more than 20mm you shouldnt have an issue.
Ive had 2 makes of...
That'll probably be me, been at my dad's all weekend and it's been on the drive.
It may well be up for grabs soon I think
If it is mine it's usually on the drive next to the fire station
I'm coming round to the R53 shape Mini thats for sure! i may need to find someone somewhere to let me have a test drive and a proper look at the interior as im still not taken by that
The supercharger idea pulls me towards them a bit though!
Federal RSR's are awesome in the dry and pretty good in the wet, so long as you don't plant your right foot to early in corners.
Toyo T1R's were shocking the last time I had a set!
Think I've missed a fair few posts on this thread, car is looking good. Shame about the spacers.
I had the same happen to me, bolt to hub type mine were though!
What model of seats are those by the way?
Yep the boot is but you may need to figure out the wiring. Did it on my Ph1 a while back, some cables just match straight up but a couple are different colours.
Great update buddy! Glad to see you're going to be cracking on with it. Could you PM me what you've come up with price/parts wise for a DIY boost conversion? im sooo tempted to boost mine this year but want to get some other mechanical stuff done first.
Exactly this... my ph1 apparently had no advisories on a new ticket when i got it. When i got round to having it properly looked at a month later it needed loads of work doing which would have been MOT fails!
In some cases I'd prefer a fail sheet with advisories then the list of repairs done to...
Yeah hopefully just unlucky. No both secondhand, tbf they could of been screwed before I even got them
Secondhand unfortunately, oh well what's done is done
Bolts holding to the spacer. Original Renault bolts too. What I don't get is that they were fine for about 3000 miles of being on with the usual 1000 mile after fitting check too
I'm still baffled as to how it happened tbh
Don't get me wrong I loved the look of having the spacers and I'm sure other brands will be better but I can't recommend eibach or fk hubcentric ones.
Like I said the only way i'd have them again is to go for a better built brand and only if I really needed them.
No idea buddy! Torqued them up to the correct setting and the same with the wheel bolts, not over tightened or anything.
One day on way home from work I heard a knocking, thought my drive shaft had started knocking as couldn't see any issues in the dark.
Next morning I tried to drive it to my...
You raise a good point but strange enough the eibach ones with steel inserts ended up being the ones to strip threads on the bolts and ended up like this
