I have found out that I should have a remote. It didn’t come with one but I have been in touch with PSCUK admin. I believe he can provide on and programme them.
I’ll look up the single key on the link you sent. Would be nice to have all the locks on a single key and a remote central locking...
It has reverse in the 6th position. Which I prefer.
There are a few jobs to do. The paint on top is near perfect and the engine is really sweet. Interior also in great condition. I like most of my cars really clean so I’m going to focus on the details. Get the underside as clean as the rest...
I’m quite familiar with this ruling. Classic minis have the same arrangement with cats.
Anything pre August 1993 doesn’t need to pass the stricter emissions test. Cats weren’t mandatory. So if removed MOT tester will test the car based on the non cat test.
I think that’s right. Always a...
It would have from factory. But at this age it’s not an MOT requirement. The petrol head fairies have removed it at some point.
I hear the cats on these take as much as 10 bhp off the car.

Yip. One of the main reasons I like the sorrento green is the interior. I like the red interior but the green is a little different and less in your face.

Few more photos from when I picked the car up.
I have changed those stupid wipers over. Modern wipers just don’t suit cars from this era.

I think I’m getting addicted to French cars.
Clio bought in September for a bit of fun. Now 205 GTI in January. Wanted one for a long time.
It will be part of a PC feature in the mag next month. I’ll post up the photo shoot pics when I get them through. Drive there and back was great fun...
Both look great. They are very similar in style and I thought from the beginning this car would look ace with a dark grey wheel.

It’s decent. I split a unit 3 ways in a cheap area. Council owned and rent privately for £250 a month. It’s more of a workshop than storage but you can see this ain’t a terrible deal.
I also keep a couple of classics in my personal garage, if I didn’t have this then you would easily lose £1200...
For the attention of gearbox gurus. Can you help identify this part. Putting the gearbox back together and no clue where it goes.
Also need to buy a few parts. I damaged this plastic piece removing the linkage to replace the seal.
And I need 2 of the small springs that keep the ball...
And I should really change the title of this thread. This is now only car number 4 after selling this last week.
I don’t think I will be buying another to be honest. Main reason for purchasing was because my dad seen them at a car show and liked the idea.
I picked it up for £350 as a...
Slow progress recently with the early arrival of this wee girl. Hannah born last week and a delighted big sister.
So after a week of being extra helpful around the house I got to the garage on the condition that I brought ice cream back for the misses.
Gearbox split.
Some parts fell out...
Some good progress and some frustration.
First starting with my gearbox. I went about splitting it. I want to renew the seal between the two machines halves and replace the 3 oil seals. Unfortunately I only got at far as the pic below shows. Looks like the diff and crown wheel and attached to...
Getting mine in a few weeks hopefully. Sky mobile. £37.50 a month for the phone and £15 for 5gb of data. Nothing up front

I'm changing mine to remove the air-conditioning. Working condition when removed if you are interested in a second hand unit

Feeling good about the progress on this car. Got the big job of timing the cams in off the list.
New sump and clutch ordered up. That will be the job next weekend. I do need some 2nd hand parts. Plastic timing belt cover anyone?

It's the insurance cost on these cars that kill it. I have a couple of classic minis and only recently a clio. I cover the insurance and tax on the minis for less than just the insurance on the Clio.

Cheers for the heads up. Pretty sure it's not a full fat. So the non cup suspension. I'll measure the upright bolt spacing. But not suspension mods in the near future. Get it back driving first.

Unexpected free night tonight but waiting on parts. So decided to do a bit more cleaning than I initially set out to do.
Painted the block.
Using some auto smart wheel cleaner and a brilo pad cleaned some alloy parts as well.
Hoping the cam cover sealant and dephaser pulley come for...
I have a fiesta ST as my daily. If you are tuning the engine mountune is the most expensive way to do it and no where near the power others can give. I got a stage 1 tune with no hardware for £320 with a dyno proven 225bhp and 277 ft lb of torque. 30% up on the factory set up. You could easily...
No pics tonight but lots done. Clutch off. On the wear limits so needed changed anyway.
Belt and pulleys off. Cam cover off. What sealant do people use to reseal this?
I also removed the waterpump. Inside this looks brand new so will be going back on.
New dephaser pulley on order.

Pressure washed the engine and gearbox tonight then split the two.
Then left for the oil leak to build. Looks like it just appears from nowhere on the sump. Can't see any cracks. I'll take it off for a look inside.
