Cheers. I'll take a pick of the starter tonight. Just snapped the bolt off the solenoid. I'm going to remove the AC but leave the PAS since it came apart ok.

Man I love xfactor. Out as soon as that shite comes on. Granted is only on an hour and I was away 3 but still. [emoji23]
Engine now out.
All quite straight forward so far. I did snap the bolt securing the main 12v supply to the starter motor. Is this common? Not sure if I done it wrong...
The strip down continues. I'm new to clios so spark plug lead reference [emoji23]
Inlet manifold off and a bunch of wiring disconnected.
I've seen a few of these stamped RS up for sale and this car has one. What does it mean exactly?
Thanks and I'll keep the pics coming.

Did you have much bother with power steering pipes. That and the gear linkage are the only things left to undo now. Going to be a track toy so doesn't need to go back with everything that it started with.

Got a spare hour today on my day off. Got the air con condenser and radiator off. Water pipes all disconnected. Also off with the alternator and air con pump.
Nice wee surprise inside the air box. Saved me £30 and looks almost brand new.
Also made my mind up on the air con. I was going to...
Looks like I'll be doing a clutch on mine. What you going for? Is it just a recent quality issue with valeo? I always thought they were ok on other cars I've had.

So after a few weeks getting one of my minis sorted and a day clearing out the lock up today iv started on my clio project.
Nice tidy workspace.
After a wee while I've got the front end off.
Main job here is the timing belt. But I'm taking the engine out as I've got 3 jobs and overall...
Thanks for inviting me. I'm off camping this weekend so can't come along. I'll keep an eye out and get out to a local meet soon!

Since you are local. Back to KH or any other events in the near future? Be good to meet up with a few local members.

You are correct that of itself a limited edition does not make a classic. But if a car gains classic status ( which is what we are guessing at ) then limited editions can command a premium. A trophy clio looks like a good example of that.
I own 2 classic minis. One is a special
Edition and one...
Clio 182 for sure. Just have a think about how much the Clio Williams has moved in 10 years to classic status. Different cars I know. The Williams was always very collectible. But what you often see in the classic car world is how later marks follow earlier cars when they become unaffordable to...
I can put up with that. The thought of smelling gearbox oil gives me a sore head.
The engine oil leaks is much worse and def needs some attention. Looks easy enough to get the sump off. Is it? If so I'll get a gasket and try that first.

So a few newbie observations and lessons. Rear discs bought from local motor factor (APEC) are shite. Had to transfer abs ring. Bearing on one is worse than the discs I took off. Done this cos they had them in stock and it was handy. Buying Renault ones off eBay now and will be asking for my...
Hi everyone. Joined the forum and club a few weeks ago. Great place to be by the way! Anyway, I bought myself a clio 182 this week, motivation was a visit to a local hill climb open night. I have an MG TF that I was planning to start using for some non competitive track days and hill climbs but...
Hi everyone.
I joined the forum a few weeks ago and clio sport properly last week. What a place. Great active community on here.
Anyway, started searching for a clio 182 after seeing a few at forrestburn hill climb. And found a suitable one near by which seems a good prospect for a bit of...
Got an st 2 last year with some extras. Great wee car. Even standard. I only just passed my test when the Clio 182 came out but I imagine they are very similar. Best and cheapest in their class.
