With all the hassle you have had im pretty happy Ijust went with the cup spoiler in the end! That said you would think it would be lighter! The cup spoiler must weigh twice as much as the standard one!

I wonder why the consumption is that much worse. I know the ratios are shorter and theres a bit more weight but still! Mines not exactly a featherweight being a non cup 172.

When I stuck mine on cruise at 56mph I got a 51.8mpg average once :D With general driving and thrashes its rare if I get below 37-38. Without cruise if I just drove like a normal person 40 is very easy.

Love it! Still needs a cup spoiler though :D If these didnt have bad gearboxes and didnt get such bad MPG I would work on my 4 days off and save to get one.

So rather than buy new wheels im going to refresh the ones I have. Going to keep the car fairly standard so I can do some trackdays this year. What are people's thoughts on... Gloss black? Ford graphite grey? Iceberg silver with the diamonds graphite grey (already are)

Is it just for the noise? All my research seems to suggest a panel filter is better for power?

Did you get a spoiler in the end? I got mine for £90 off ebay. Sod buying one for £120 off CS lol Its really not very hard to spray a spoiler yourself. In fact I found it a doddle!
