Well the title says it all really.
First i'll introduce the car since i'm a bit of a CS lurker and haven't really felt the need to show off a standard arctic 182.
She had her first MOT the day I bought her in august '07 and stayed totally standard until i found this forum and so the simple...
Slice it off if needs be. When it comes to putting it back on you can dip the end of the hose in a cup of boiled water for a couple of minutes to soften it up.
Hahaha laugh and move on. An offer below asking price in an auction is hardly an insult! (If you've got a short fuse you could show him what your interpretation of an insult is).
Fixed that for you.
not sure if srs?
Look the part? of what, a pea shooter?
And Milltek, fit the part? Now i love the sound and look of mine but it IS built such that it sits 10mm too far right. Sockets in the exhaust hanger sorts it but does not fit the OP's bill.
Scorpion or K-tec mate.
Dan @ Mylan Auto Design. He's on here and ran a group buy a whie back. They're usually available on ebay in a range of thicknesses and camber.
Here you go :)...
Also, did Renault not spend loads of time and effort mapping these cars? That we all know to run like a bag of bolts when cold and have a big ol' flat spot til that magic 5k kick?
Maybe they're not so perfect. Or running to cost/ time restrictions?
Good point Martin... Better directed at those faffing with all their suspension/ steering geometry by lowering heaps?
I'm certainly no motorsport engineer so i'm not going to argue here. We both speak from experience that reducing unsprung weight improves handling... I'd be very interested to...
Yes IF you were using the same section tyre on each wheel size... 45/16 and 50/15 differ by less than 1% on the speedo, as stated above, so surely the acceleration/ gearing argument is moot.
The weight difference between my 182 cup wheels and my 15" TD pro race 1.2s is, however, ubdeniable. The...
Welcome to the forum mate.
The 'lumpy' cold running of these engines is totally normal, I believe it's to do with the safer map the ecu uses as the engine warms up.
I felt that switching to V-power helped (may just be imagined).
The very well regarded RS Tuner 98 RON map helps a lot from what...
Had its 1st MOT the day i bought it in August 08 at 29k
Now on 62k. Well serviced but always something to fix! about to sort a blowing exhaust joint :)
As has been said buy on condition & receipts, not milage.
Not sure on the price now incl. dephaser but i had my cam and aux belts done a couple of years ago at Rentech Portsmouth for £415.
Matt, CodeRed in Tunbridge Wells comes highly recommended too.
Mate just enjoy driving it for a little while, stick around here and work out what you like in terms of looks. Easy to smarten up little things like silvervisions, stubby aerial, newer style RS badge on the back, make sure its got a splitter. New clean plates (no GB, no border, possible 3/4...
