Yep I was the same! Hopefully I'm being over reactivate to the whole situation and I won't have to.
I have some savings to get me by but ultimately if it has to go I will look at getting it advertised.
From the comments above I maybe don't need to worry so much about the time of year I'd be...
Haha no that's fine I can't remember exactly but I think £11,700. That might of been with delivery, I'd have to find the invoice. I just had it serviced with Renault before tucking it away next year aswell
I get what your saying there and that was my initial idea but if it sells and it turns out things changed and I didn't need to sell I'd actually be pretty gutted!
I guess that's a risk I'm going to have to weigh up
I have a cheap C1 for my everyday car which doesn't have any real value! I really don't want to sell it but obviously if I have to I will.. Just trying to figure out the best way of not giving it away if the time comes.
So after years of trying to find a nice 172 cup I made that dream happen... Only to end up needing ACL Revision and a few other jobs from an old injury. Not a huge problem but being self employed with no sick pay for 3-6 months wasn't great.
The operation was done on Friday and didnt go to plan...
I emailed collectingcars.com this week about potentially selling my 172 cup. It's only on 28,500 miles and in great condition etc and they estimated the value between 8-10k.
I think this is on point for a lot of people? Whenever I look for a new car I always take time to consider depreciation, I think owning a fast depreciating car dampens ownership.
Since my last cup I've tried a ep3, M2, GR Yaris, Gr86. For me what the Clio offers in terms of affordable fun is on...
That's exactly my plan. Paid over the odds for low miles (28k) plan to use it on nice days/evenings/when the mood suits, keep in tip top condition and it will still be relatively low mileage when I'm done with it.
I also think 172/182 prices will go one way aswell. Having spent the last few weeks looking for a fun fast(ish) hot hatch for everyday use it's made me see what a bargain car these are! Might just end up getting a second one..
Great to have a look back several years at people's predictions on prices :) It seems values went far beyond what everyone expected!
I wonder where prices for well kept cups will be in another 5 years... Predictions below please 😂
I have just put a deposit on a super low mile 172cup after being away from them for a few years! In that time I tried- ep3, fiesta st, BMW M2, GR Yaris and a gr86.. Still nothing had the same characteristics of a light nimble NA Clio!
Right I'm with you, that makes more sense now. So just a case of having them rolled once fitted, if the bodyshop doesn't have a roller I'm sure I can get that sorted somehow.
Thanks for that :)
I've had a read through yours and saw how you did yours. I'm tempted to do mine the same tbh.. It makes sense to renew as much metal as possible now I'm doing it I guess.
I'm having a body shop cut and weld my arches before it starts to get any worse. He's going to cut and use the piece he needs and weld it in.. I thought I'd get the whole arch replaced rather than just the affected area to save any future hassle..
Hope I'm doing the right thing :/
I managed to find a company that supplies them in the UK.. I have ordered them hoping they will be right but the customer service wasn't great tbh.. I have 30 days to return if they're wrong anyway.
I'm after getting some rear quarter repair panels for my 172 cup.. Is there anywhere that supplies them? I have seen some available in Germany on ebay (item number - 223844876129) but do the base models have the same flared arches as the 172/182's?
Any help gratefully received :)
