my belief is that mechanics not experienced in Clios see the yellow SERV light and just think its time for a dealer service, and owner is ignoring
Obvs any red lights they get concerned about
Ah well- comradeship is the name of the game. Snuggle up under the Cliosport tent then.
So long as theres a warm cuppa :-)
Mind you, they've quoted rain everyday down here this week pretty much, and weve had a few spatterings only
Realise this was a while back, but Halfords do Silkolene Pro 4 Plus oil 5w40, but say its for bikes only
Does that matter? Engine oil is engine oil is it not? Pricey too, but like to try something else when i change oil in couple weeks
no 7am'ers queueing at the gate for opening then? Mist hovering all over Silverstone
Not my idea of a nice day, an early wake up either, but paying £50 for entrance, gotta make the most of it
Somewhere round 7.45 for me I think,
Fair point getting a car all done, as i would probably do that in future
Just when I was looking the thought of spending close on £2k on a 15 year old track car was a phallacy
Now that i have done that (lol) i would consider in future getting one all done
Saying that, Ive had a year of fun and...
Yep, just downloaded and printed all the tickets and stuff, and track time info
Us is car 3/32
We are Milton Keynes the night before, are the gates open 7am for Clubs? - havent found that bit yet. Says 10am show opens for general public
Happy to meet up with anyone round Milton Keynes or en...
seems a tadge pricey for a 115k miler, but certainly a few extras. Just depends if its those extras that you want
I plumped for a £550 phase 1, then spent £1k on it concentrating on tyres, seats (Corbeau new) half roll cage install, and general servicing
Got my belts to do next year, and...
just to confirm for anyone reading this thread, a yellow SERV light permanently ON will NOT fail an MOT. Will not even be commented on in relation to mine. "Noisy exhaust" was only comment on mine :-)
Get a roll bar fitted if its for track, i got a 172 (Non cup) but would probably go the extra bit and get a 197 now
Cup is cheaper for cambelt changes etc- no air con. get a Cup if its gonna be used on track a fair bit as less bits on it, full fat for comfort and roaduse.
15inch wheels- cheaper...
Selling a car is a lot easier, and you get more money, if its a runner
So maybe join the RAC/AA/ BRitannia and leave it couple weeks, then call them out
They should diagnose, then if you get it going, stick it in for a cheapo (£30) MOT? Trailer it if need be.
Thats interesting as this is the first paragraph of the email the sent me which made me think they would mail it:
Thank you for your club order for TRAX 2017.
Your order number is 1718** and you have booked with ClioSport
This email is confirmation of your order. Your club ticket(s) and...
Welcome to the Club
new to Clios myself a year ago, when I noticed this small French car that could make 170BHP , and only cost £550 (Phase 1)
Went for it, have spent about 1500 with new AD08r's all round, rear half cage (Welded bodywork mount plates) and top spec bucket seats amongst the cost...
When cleaned up the silvers do look good... in a photo
Real life you can see where all the paint has faded and chipped
Some stickers sorts that..... my Phase 1 has a lot of stickers . Ha!
still great fun tho
Wonder what happens if the PAS fails
Had a Punto where loosing PAS was a common problem, just went really heavy all of a sudden
Imagine that going Ton up on a track approaching a bend !!!
Thread resurection: Anyone know if these actually help cooling the engine at high speed/ track days, or are they just an appearance thing
My PAS fluid boiled over on the last track day, wondered if these would help?
