I recently stripped mine bare like this, i left the sound deadening, no real weight saving IMO, it does look a mess left on tho i admit, but it will still look messy unless you cover or spray. I wanted to put down some grip stuff (self adhesive) until i saw the price of it lol per meter lol.

That could be repaired, all be it tricky, do you have the bit thats chipped out?

He must of been putting some effort into it, im amazed hes managed to get through the clear coat to the paint, as its bloody tough once cured. Definately taken paint? and not just scratched the clear? Get some pictures if you can be arsed, curious to see the damage.

I bet this doesnt have the gloss of a proper spray finish, i bet its dull as hell but its an interesting concept esp if you not to worry about an absolute perfect finish, id like to see it in person how good the finish is. (You would need alot of coats to get a deep scratch out)
