Nah metal mate (well mine were), see my trader section for the sand blasted pictures of the wiper arms on my car. Its some kind of single stage paint on OEM, at first i thought they were power coated but the black paint came off easy in the sand blaster @100psi with a fine compound, id of been...
Have cut the wires fella lol, else yes id do it, just for you. A previous owner im affraid!. The OEM washers are crap, those ones spray pretty good, any ideas where i can get some half decent ones?
Hahha i confess they were on the car when i bought it lol, they are indeed washer jet LED types!! HOWEVER before you all rofl, i have cut the wiring, but im 2 tight to buy new ones lol.
You lot get way to hung up on personal preference, i can do them Matt black aswell you know lol, but i love...
Finally got around to doing something for my car, first job was cleaning the lights so they are clear, got the 2.5" air sander on them with decreasing grades and they have come up superb after a good G3'ing.
Second job was the wiper arms, have been annoying me for some time, being rusty and...
Yep agreed, mine are exactly the same im going to take mine off and do them in black with a dull coat finish this week sometime. Obviously we can do these post and return.
We do dash strip / gear insert / wheel inserts respray / colour coding, if you fancy a quote for having it done professionally drop me a PM. 48 - 72 hour turn around. See my web site, for many examples of dash colour coding.
You want a proper paint place matey, it requires a orangey base code , then the inferno orange on top. Theres a special base for it, to get the proper colour as its quite a thin paint mix.
Problem is Anthracite is a general term for basically a metalic silver, 100's of shades. Im sure there is a renault paint code for the silver somewhere but as i normally do whole wheel refurbs i dont normally have to blend and match exactly so i dont know it.
However i can help you with the...
For inferno you should use a base colour after primer, which is like a rusty brownie red, then your inferno orange on top. Its a very thin colour you see inferno...
Ahh Yes heres lies the problem, you will need ALOT of coats from a can and a whole bunch of sanding and polishing to get the glass like finish. The way the 2k clear works is it doesnt rely on the solvents evaporating off leaving the paint behind, its a chemical reaction, which causes it to...
If you have tried 2k and get that effect, could be many reasons, but could be your paint mix is wrong (normally 3 - 1), your not putting enough paint on to get the mirror finish, whats the PSI of the spray gun? nozel size?
If you have pics of the issue, ill have a gander.
If you use 1500...
My advice sand them reasonably well, plenty of panel wipe, use a plastic primer , then a high build 2k primer else you'll be all day, that nasty plastic bubbles as you sand it, needs to be wet or you'll use alot of sand paper lol.
You will struggle to get a high gloss finish with none 2k...
I had this problem, turned out to be one of 2 things, timing was out or plugs. I was using NGK switched to iridium power and the problem went away, however i did have my timing checked and it was out due to bent slots on the camshafts (previous owner), so try plugs first.....then get timing...
Mine are bent as hell aswell, im not bothered really tho, unless your going to do the work yourself from here on in then they will bend again. Garages will always use the points unless you expressly say use the rails, i use the rails on mine but the damage was done already.
What paint did you use on them? only reason you would not lacquer is if it was a single stage paint. Otherwise you should always lacquer for a lasting protected finish, use dull coat if you want a matt finish. (Just remember dont buff it, else it wont be matt anymore!)
~£80- 100 for a decent job for the front inserts, assuming no blending is taking place.
~£30 - 40 pair of door handles
This is a job id take on, but unfortunately not till the later this month, as im moving premises.
Less restrictive exhaust system will get your AGT's down aswell, which is obviously much better for life length of your turbo if your going to up the boost. As with any car when you up the boost, just have to make sure it doesnt run lean, and the injectors have the balls to coupe (<80% duty...
Ill assume its turning over, immobiliser issue? is it getting spark? might not be getting fuel due to tdc sensor....cleaned it?, unlikely as it was running.....
Buzzling is normal from throttle body.
Most of them leak there a bit, mine does aswell, its definately not your cause of your litres worth of oil......else it would definately be pissing all over the engine and the odd drip on the floor i shouldnt wonder and your bay would look a total mess after a few thousand mines at that...
Luck of the draw, some do, some dont, basically any engine (other than rotary engines) that uses oil is in some way is not 100% (if theres no leaks or obvious cause), be it piston rings or values or whatever, but mines been using oil for 60k+ of hard driving, similar sort of usage to yours and...
