Ok used some gasket silicon around the sensor and now the issues gone away.
:)
Looks like the hole is slightly too large and the orings on the sensors are not enough. No biggie.
now to see if this helps at all with my original issue
No hahahahah.
I will be doing the test today, told the wife that I'm the man and she will do as I ask! Stay at home whilst I trundle down the m69! She was.. well less than pleased and thinks I'm wasting fuel lol!
She then said it would be cheaper to take her car!?!? I just left the room at...
... excuse me?
I like to drive the megane, and behind a happy woman is a happy man so I will do what I like.
don't tell me this is a forum where the men don't allow their woman to get their way once in a while?
Today for example we left and now in Lemington... didn't go home and used a...
my car gets looks more so now than before. But that may be because it has blue door trims, blue boot, blue spoiler, blue bonnet and a blue fuel cap when the rest is black hahaha
People must think its a right shed
No I haven't done the test yet, everytime I get the chance to do a decent drive where I can do the test the wife wants to come and refuses to take the clio... she wants me to drive her megane as its quieter.... so im waiting for a moment where I can go on my own.
Yo
so I decided I would put a new map sensor on the 172, why not eh? Last one was all oily inside so for £15 odd why not.
since fitted on cold the idle sticks at 1.6k for 2 to 3 seconds then drops. It will do it again when I put clutch in each time.
When warm it does the same but 1.2k...
The engine after new map sensor runs on idle @ 1.2k for 2 to 3 seconds then drops to 1k.
also when cold it's 1.6k for a few seconds then down to 1k.
is this normal? Or have I got a dodgy / cheap Map sensor fitted?
Put the old one back and it's fine
I would do what the DVLA say to be honest.
Tell them in the form that you want to contact the owner on the basis that you wish to rescue the car from rotting away any further.
Then wait and see what happens.
Whats the cars numberplate?
Bareing in mind that if you did rescue it, it would need...
Not yet mate, I was planning to pop down to work today but things just got in the way.
I'm charging my laptop now and plan to do a trip in the morning whilst logging the Data too. I'm going to treat myself to a Krispy kreme on a motorway services haha :)
Yea driven a few mate, And not to forget my 172.
I have also test driven the newer Honda and yes it does feel tame in comparison (even when going faster) but i enjoy all the mod cons too.
Disaster struck.
Checked car today, the wrap has formed bubbles in the inner edges of the boot when the number plate is, And once heated and pushed back there are lumps of adhesive around the bubbles edges and now they wont stick ;(
Looks like i will be forced to remove the entire boots wrap...
I have mate, They cant see a problem. And unless i pay around £150-£200 in Diagnostic labour i wont be anywhere closer. I have the RStuner so can check stuff and tbh i dont mind throwing new parts at it as they are cheap :)
So had it apart.
can't find anything in the door that will cause this noise.
It's a metal on metal sound and as far as i can see all metal in secure and bolts tight.
just very odd I can't seem to find the problem.
middle top of door is where the noise is
5 years / 72k miles is it not?
Yes do dephaser. Might as well as you can only do it when you do the belts. And if it goes just after a belt change you will kick yourself.
Don't forget the aux belt kit needs doing at same time as cam belt
