how do i use it?!
if i go to it in the menu it just has the spinning symbol as if something is working but won't let me click it etc?
is there another option somewhere?
It didn't!
Still struggling with it! Got some family coming down on Christmas day who should know what they're doing so fingers crossed!
I hate technology
Found that, they all say 'info' but then the first error is 'failed to set system restore point due to error 0x80070422'
Then there are a lot of errors after that too.....
I can copy and paste if needed?
Also, in that folder there is another text file named Upgrade_dism - assuming that was me...
I did something similar on the site.
Basically googled running XP on W7, then it scanned it and said I need to be 'Professional' to be able to run XP, so paid to upgrade etc, then had the above problems.
This Laptop has been W7 from birth not previously updated.
tired the above in with no spaces, came back with:
elevated permissions are required to run dism. use an elevated command prompt to complete these tasks.
any ideas now?!
(thanks for the help by the way!)
where do i type that spoon, in 'run'??
I was following the steps on the website to upgrade, then now when it stops i just go to 'windows anytime upgrade' and it starts automatically but never finishes!
Fresh install?
I know nothing about torrents either, how do they work?!
Why is nothing easy, I paid for the bloody thing to try and just make it simple and easy!
Spoonie, yeah that's what I mean.
I'm currently on Premium, I'm upgrading to Proffesional to allow the XP being run, but it won't work for some reason.
gave me an upgrade key in an email, then basically i just continued with the steps after payment to upgrade.
it runs for a few minutes, then says it was unsuccessful and try again later.
Got a laptop with Windows 7 home on it.
Need to upgrade to premium so I can run XP on it.
Paid for the upgrade on Microsofts site but it keeps being 'unsuccessful'. And then they want to charge me £46 for support!!
Anyone got any ideas?!
Thanks for the help, will do some research!
A mate apparently has XP on his so will pick his brains!
Ronnie, cheers for the advice but I have no idea what I'm doing/that meant!
I had the same dilemma and went for the Air after some recommendations on here.
It's properly light and slim, works very quick etc!
Mine is the spec you out above too.
