A lot of the flywheels are cnc machined mate - they all come from ttv, and I’ve sold a lot of them without issue in the past. So if there is an issue with it, there’s 100% a batch of faulty ones out there lol
Yes I agree, but I’ve seen more clutch failures on these cars than I’ve had hot dinners. With the gripper in there as well, everything’s under more load too.
The only one that seems to last is the Sachs clutch that pms offer. Not cheap, but it removes the common denominator for issues.
If it’s the flywheel, it’s the first one I’ve seen. If it’s a clutch issue, I don’t have enough fingers to count on the amount of issues I’ve seen with them. Lol
Did you fit the clutch plate the correct way round? Sometimes they have a flywheel side/pressure plate side - just an off the top of my head thought mate.
Only other thing can be the release bearing has failed, but get a magnet on it asap! If that swarf is aluminium, it’s the strap on the...
The best crank to use is the early ph1 crank. It’s the heaviest out of the lot and looks to be forged.
That new one in your picture is the ph2 172 crank. I’d toss that in the bin as it’s not even any use as a paperweight.

You’re looking at anywhere between £120 in parts to £350 ish.
I can rebuild the box for you, but I’m in the West Midlands. You’d have to get it out and sent up to me though.
You need to reset your clutch ratchet. Take the cable off at the box and pull it all the way out. That lifts the clutch pedal in the car and should reset the ratchet.
