maybe mate, trouble is sometimes Renault will fit a different bulb to what is listed in the manual.

No, only way of knowing what the main beam is, is to take it out, unless someone comes along who has changed it recently, even the manual gets it wrong.

not sure what you mean by H1, H7 and 501, if you have HID's they are D2S not H anything.

The standard speakers are shocking. What Alpine HU are you running? You can buy some really good Alpine S type speakers on e-bay that will sound alot better than stock plus the KTP amp also Matt @MT Audio had a KTP for sale so if you haven't bought it yet give him a shout.

HID are dipped, main beam are standard halogen, not sure on the fit though, I've never changed my main beam, no real point and HID's don't work for main beam very well. Are your HID's broken or faded? Are you changing because you would like a different colour and lower light output? see here for...

yep, the PRE CAT has longer wire, the POST CAT has a shorter wire. There is a 2nd hand one on Ebay for £23 posted.

Nope just DF038 nothing else, it does say downstream sensor which is post CAT, bought one of e-bay so gonna fit it and see. Code will not clear at all.

Just realised that the Downstream O2 sensor is POST CAT, I didn't htink this one was very importent on the 172/182, just a polution light on the dash. Confused now, I was going to replace the Exhaust anyhow and that hasn't changed BUT do I get a CATBACK and fix the POST CAT sensor or just go...

Been to Renault Derby today and got DF038 DOWNSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR HEATING CIRCUIT - RED So looks like I need to replace the sensor or buy an decat exhaust.
