Blue 225 mot had expired and its not moved this year. Its been shuffled in and out the garage a couple of times thats about it.
Booked it in for mot so got it out over the weekend for a clean and a quick run round the block. Its been on trickle charge so battery is good, checked...
Update.
Blue van failed to proceed today. It had not been used since last thursday and shuffled up and down the drive a couple of times. I was out today and the mrs went to use it, started as usual then stalled 5 seconds later and would not restart.
Instantly thought it was that air leak...
Updates.
Daily use this week and its been great fun. Too easy to drive fast and everybody wants to race a yellow car for whatever reason. Drinks fuel when not driven sensibly. Love it!
Daily.
Took it down to my mates garage to get the geo set today. Was not far out but reset the wheel...
If you see rpm move on live data when cranking your tdc sensor is working ok.
Check you have Spark and fuel. Check voltage at fuel pump connector and fuel line into a bottle to check flow.
100% better, impressed with the quality for the price.
I was tempted to reinstate but racecar  Probably would have been the sensible option for winter use.
Unsure of the bolt pattern, be interesting to see if its somewhere near. There is a possibility as i think Adey used a 172 sump?
Also cable shift and hydraulic clutch from memory. Kangoo dci hydraulic pedal box would solve clutch issue and fit twingo shifter. Clutch and shafts to sort.
Bang on, id bet its the low down torque hurting them fast. I run similar power through my jb3 with the 1.4gtt engine, and it has less low down torque and needs loads of rpm in comparison to f4r to make the power and gearboxes seem to last a reasonable amount of time. Ive still blew a couple up...
Cheers mate. Im glad its been good and not broken yet as i never enjoyed the old one we had after replacing all the suspension after 300 miles of owning it. Hated it after that it royally killed the honeymoon period 😅
Cheers mate. I was booked to go with the Kangoo but didnt bother in the end...
@.Joe bang on.
Official manual says your supposed to lock airbag comp when changing config but ive done it with and without and it doesnt make any difference from experience. I just send it.
Small update.
Took the 250 out last week for a quick blast whilst weather was dry.
It feels absolutely planted on the back roads on stock cup suspension. Exhaust sounds great when on it too.
I actually feel like ive enjoyed driving this already as all its needed is fuel since buying and not...
Small update.
Was planning to go to Oulton in it on Sat last week but had so much to do at home had to rain check it.
Anyway give it clean up on Sunday. Bumper plastics still look great no fading as of yet. Took it out for some running about to pick up building materials.
Will lay it up at...
Cheers mate! Appreciate the feedback.
I cant believe ive had it coming up 5 years in November and its been on the road 3.5 years.
I will prob sell it at some point to be fair. I wouldnt even know how to price it though as there is so much money in it now.
Still got loads i want to do to it...
Small update.
Previous owner had removed the rear wiper and blanked the hole in the plastic surround with a grommit.
Before - Functional.
Whilst browsing ebay for other shite that i dont need i came across a nice cnc cut black acrylic wiper delete. Took a punt on it for a tenner delivered...
I have the jamsport wilwood caliper kit on my trophy. Not sure if the same caliper, mine is a wilwood midilight, pad choice is quite limited mostly ds2500 or ds3000.
I modified ferodo ds1.11 frp502w pads as they are the same shape and size but need adjusting to clear the springs, work fine. I...
Wouldnt bother rebuilding a k lump id just stick it in, stock engine and box on ecumaster on the custom production fitting kit
Probably similar dollar but be fast and reliable with loads of potential to tune.
Dog or sequential are high maintenance stuff, main problem will be finding a...
Cheers mate, appreciated. Hopefully all the recent repairs will make for a nice trouble free trip next month.
Been thinking and might flog this on in the new year. Im feeling a mk3 meg rs for next years track fun. Will see!
Updates.
Spa prep continues.
When i done the drivers side swivel bearing last year i took a gamble and reused the original insert with a new bearing as thats all i had at the time. Many years ago you could get away with just changing the bearing and reusing the insert and all would be OK, but...
My insurance has not really budged price wise on the modified stuff. All between £300-450 fully comp with greenlight.
The diesels are a pain in the arse to insure. Ive been with elephant for years as every time i shop round the quotes get ridiculous for what they are.
It sounds like they have had a go and possibly messed it all up. Id be getting it checked by a specialist to check the cam timing is right and pulleys are torqued correctly.
