As above, jack on the inner chassis rail or subframe at the front, use timber on the subframe as it dents easy.
On the rear jack up on the ball part of the rear beam .
My trophy has braided hoses from master to abs block as all re routed for the turbo conversion, front brake lines from abs block to calipers are ptfe braided and pedal feels superb, so agree does not make any difference.
My local motorfactors will still knock up a brake pipe and dirt cheap...
Degrease the cam cover and run it to pinpoint the oil leak.
If its cam cover gasket its a pretty big job as its cambelt off to remove it, which needs specialist tools to do properly.
Done half a days work on this Mk3 astra gsi that i done the c20let conversion on a couple of years ago. Its just come out of the bodyshop after a full paint so going through the snagging for mot. Bled the brakes up and changed a sticky front caliper.
Done a couple of guvvys this week.
1 - Clio 197 airbag recalibration on track car.
All the faults stored and recalibrated in ten mins.
2 - Meg 250 diagnosis and repair.
The owner was local and got in touch with me. It was misfiring on cyl 1 and had been in a garage for comp test/parts...

Spa prep started yesterday..
Started with replacing n/s driveshaft and hub. All went pretty smoothly and was done in a couple of hours. Gearbox filled with fresh elf nfj that i had in stock.

Updates
Took it for a decent run out yesterday as not moved in a while, and weather is turning so it will be off the road soon.
Nothing to report - its still fcuking fast with terrible mpg 😆 good fun hustling all the modern stuff in it though.

Book is 3 years from memory.
One of my mates who worked for ren claimed they recommended yearly changes on the ac aux setup if doing a few miles as it give so many issues, with tensioner seizing etc.
Im sure i remember this from years ago. Be interesting to see what engine you go for(y)
A lad i know has a mk1 clio with a vr6 turbo lump in the back. Around 500hp from memory, from what he told me its a handful to drive
Its just a shim on top of the valve stem oil seal instead of being under it so still at the bottom of the spring/head side, not the retainer side which would add moving mass.
Small update.
Van rear interior and shelf in the blue dci has made a decent improvement to road noise on motorway use. Its not exactly refined but any improvement is heading in the right direction.
Stereo setup sounds a little bit quieter on mid range with rear speakers removed but better in...
Ds1.11 are mega. I had hardly no airflow to my brakes on the extra van at Anglesey, the brakes were so hot that the lacquer melted on the wheels, no fade at all consistent pedal feel and bite throughout.
Wouldnt touch pbs or ebc personally, cheap for a reason.
If you want unreal power stick to the ferodo or pagid. The ds1.11 bite from cold is awesome but wear the discs fast. The pagids have less bite from cold but mega when on it. Ive just fitted a set of brembo 250 calipers to an astra vxr...
Every good pad is really expensive for mk3/mk4 rs, its mad.
Are you after ultimate track performance or just upgrade over stock? The stock brembo pads are terrible on our 250, ive been considering going for mintex m1144 as bit cheaper at £200ish.
Cheers mate, It is indeed sport yellow. Im not sure if there is a couple of different shades as it looks slightly lighter than the old one we had. Assume no fading to this as its been garaged forever.
Cheers mate, Appreciated. Yours looks mega clean in the pics, Need to pop down and have a look...
