Plenty of wd40 (or something better like Injector-ex) on the underneath of the bolt.
Don’t use an impact!
If you can’t do it with a normal sized ratchet, get some heat on it. Again, from the underneath.
They’re a complete prick to remove.
I wish I was. But when I get back off holiday I’ve got 2 weeks of missed income to catch up on, as well as the £5K+ I’ve just spent on holiday. It isn’t going to leave me much time at all.
I have just had a message off my mate I sold the Kangoo too, he’s said I can bring that if I want. Plus...
The 172 clutch cable is too long. The 16v cable is too short.
So I’ve used a 172 cable but packed the end of it out with a spacer. That spacer has caused the pivot point to move meaning it’s putting stress where it shouldn’t.
Basically, fitting a gripper diff to my car was the worst thing I ever...
No, the gearbox casing is flexing. And I’m pretty sure you’ll all punch me repeatedly if it explodes and dumps oil all over the place.
Not a great scenario for a moderator of the worlds finest automotive gathering.
Hydraulic clutch conversion. I have all the parts but it’s never been done on a Mk1 with a 172 box as far as I can see. I’m also on holiday for the next 10 days.
Highly unlikely my car will be ready for this. So I’ve either got to buy something to make use of my track ticket and I can also use to enjoy the roads on the way there (risky with an unknown car) or sell the track time and just drive up in the truck.
Rear brakes and rear shocks will get rid of 4 of them and the parts are cheap. (Assuming you have a clio?)
I’d be more inclined to see what the oil leak is. If it’s not bad or it’s just a build up of old oil, take all the under trays off and clean it all up. Obviously if it’s bad and leaking...
Locking wheel nuts, window etchings and alarms were all done by CAT for ‘genuine’ Uk registered cars iirc. All models had the immobiliser. Final answer Dave, but im only 99% sure not 100.
Let me know a price when you get back from your trip away. I’m absolutely skint at the moment but I’m hoping my mate will sell a couple of my cars whilst I’m away. And I’ve always wanted one of these.
As above, I used to sell Renault 172’s when they were new and for every English registered one there was at least one import. They were very common. Nothing to worry about at all.
Sounds a bit pants, no? Unless it’s the quality of the video.
What manifolds has it got on it?
If it’s the standard crap it will be strangling the V8 noise. Get some good quality headers on there and it will sound biblical.
Looks nothing like a Renault 5.
It’s f**king massive.
Why does it need 22 inch wheels??
New cars really can just f**k off now. I can’t think of a new car that I’d actually want to own??
Your other option is to slide a very thin pick/flat blade screwdriver in between the pin and the plastic housing of the plug. This then pushes the pins closer together. Doing that as well as giving them a good clean up has worked for me on several clios.
