Any suggestions for where Alex can stay? Anyone got a spare sofabed/floor in their room? At £150 for the night I'm less interested in booking my own ;) Travelodge is £60, stayed there before, know where it is, so may go for that.

Mine's the same, I pull the whole system to bits, put it back together again and it works for a week or so. Annoying but don't want to be spending the money on a new pump.

That's the trap I always get drawn into with motorsport. Try to get some safe shots at higher shutter speed, then realise they look crap, drop down to 1/160 or something then spend the rest of the day trying to get sharpness. I need better lenses, but with the cost involved, I'd prefer to buy...

Get the cLaguna for 6 months / a year then sell it for a 200. That way you'll still have owned a cLaguna and have a nice newish car a year later. Personally I'd keep the Rallye, if that's what you're still rolling wit'.
