mods to improve driveability

  Clio 182 arctic
alright guys
ive got a ff182 n had it almost a year now and not had any problems yet ( gona regret sayin that). the car is completely standard but i was just wondering if there are any mods to improve driveability, just like making it feel a bit nicer to drive, maybe improve mpg, that sort of thing etc
cheers

^ Agree. Coilovers will make it feel much more stable and level in the corners.

Depends what coilovers you go for, IIRC most of the more expensive damping adjustable ones can give near OEM ride quality. Then again most modifications to improve driveability/handling are going to comprise comfort a little.

i had uprated suspension on my last clio 1.2 but its speed bump central near me n not even the nice 1s, the horrible plasticy 1s in the middle of the road and it drove me mad. dont fink i cud handle that again, im a wuss lol. is the remap worth it on a standard car

.
but will coilovers not make the ride a bit more harsh or is that me thinking nonsense.

Yeah it does, although the improvement in handling outweighs this massively. Not sure what happens if you have then similar to standard height. As too low can compromise handling. Maybe Eibachs sportline/proline springs may be better for you.

As said a remap will probably just bring you up to quoted stock power. Probably no need to declare then as it'll be the same hp as what they think it is.

I agree with Brett actually.

If you just potter about and not arsed about handaling go for some Sportlines. They are decent imo. Lower the car by enough but retain good clearance and moderate ride harshness. Deff softer than my Trophy set up.

Remap should give a freer feeling and potentially better mpg.

no need for coilovers for the road, slightly uprated springs, prolines or sportlines maby, dont get me wrong coilovers wont make it any worse on the road unless its seriously bumpy but you wont get the benifit from them.

id put a panel filter in it, matched inlets and remap it, nice healty power gain and some more low down torque which is usefull on the road.

standard FTW i have decided, anyone that wants a precise rough ride with loads of noise, offer me a standard ph1 172 and its yours
