New belts pretty much in, just the straps to fix and adjust on the roll bar.
I’ve never used Motomec products before but the car came with a set of 4-point belts which are really comfortable. Sadly I can’t get away with them. I like to be properly strapped in.
They look really good quality...
Ordered. Great timing as I’ve just noticed the end of the pipe work is missing off my NSF. I think the steel wheels ripped it off on the way to the circuit. Only just put them on as well. 🤦🏻♂️
Time to sort the fans out before Croft next week.
Picked up a cheap digital temperature gauge/sensor and an M12 and M10 mm 3-way T adapter from Car Builder.
I wanted to retain the factory temperature sensor and monitor temperatures without drilling additional holes in the pipework for the...
I bought mine brand new a few years back but if you’re saying a dealer can get you some for £65, order them. I’ve seen them sell second hand for more than that. Let us know if you order some and when they arrive.
Is the plan to make the Renault badge interchangeable?
It would be cool if it was as a lot of wheel refurb centres can paint the centre caps separately.
I think that might be the biggest challenge.
All your wheels look great. I liked the gold EVO Corse combination you had, but that's just me.
I think the factory look never gets old, so when a car has the standard cup or optional Turnini's fitted, it just looks right.
I've seen a few Clio's using front splitters combined with rear spoilers—namely Pro-Am and Frogjam—and I understand the potential benefits given they're highly developed race cars, especially the Frogjam car with 240 bhp.
Any downsides to having just the front splitter? More oversteer and...
It's an old picture and not very detailed, but this is how I fitted a sheet of Nimbus in my circuit car.
I just removed the header tank bottle from the bulkhead, then added some heat tape to the left and right of it. Used self-tapping screws to secure it along with washers.
It was just a sheet...
I bought these off a chap and they were in good condition but had some proper crusty dust which wouldn’t come off with a general purpose wheel cleaner.
Used some Bilt Hamber Korrosol and it literally dissolved it.
I’m running CL6 pads which are good for destroying wheel paint if you don’t...
I suspected it would be close. It’s why I never went for one after my i30N. Clio is the better all round car imo. Wish I was back over there. Maybe next year.
Ps. There’s a PMS 240 engine for sale on faceache 😉
A short break in the weather so took Muttley down to Saltburn for a quick run on the beach - me in the distance.
I’d only been down there a few minutes and got a ping on my phone - “Is that you mate?”
Haha I’m looking all over the place expecting to be shot by a sniper before realising it’s...
If you need any questions answering just ask. Or lob a price at me. I’m very impulsive 😂 I’d love to get back the £13,567.63p I’ve put into it 🤯
Joking aside, I’m a realist.
I've been so preoccupied with my Track car, I completely forgot the MOT was due on the RB.
Picked her up from storage last night and gave her the first proper exterior wash using some BH products.
Dropped her off at the garage this morning filthy thanks to the rain, then got a call a few...
Took a Mazda 323 4X4 in against an RS Escort Turbo and smoked that for 6 months. It was a bit different and a rare beast.
Similar situation with the Charade but ended up owning one for a year before trading it in for a 205 GTi. These were very quick little cars. Again rare as hen's teeth now...
I’m not sure I’d fit one on a road car, well I know I wouldn’t, but for circuit use it’s one of the best bits of kits you can fit. Even better when used in conjunction with an LSD/Gripper.
Maybe now you've mentioned it, they might update their website.
I recently bought a custom radiator that was supposed to fit a Mk2, though the instructions were for a Mk1. I had trouble fitting it in my 182 due to the alternator and had to modify the radiator supports. Despite the challenges, I...
I know of one example involving a particularly rusty Clio. The hubs on this car were in such poor condition that they seemed barely capable of handling a standard ball joint, let alone a roll centre correction kit.
Shortly after that, Pro-am updated their roll centre pins and sent me a new set...
