I’ll just check my bolt list but whatever you do don’t throw those away. From memory these are a special Renault bolt - 7700656379 and NLA.
Have a read of this - https://cliosport.net/threads/nuts-and-bolts.814078/#post-11524905
I’m using it as a test day so will probably be out for a few laps and back in as we set it all up. If I can get it dialled in that day I’ll be very pleased.
@Brigsy is going too
Just there as a precaution as there’s a bit of wear on the quick release mechanism that holds the bumper on.
It causes the ends of the bumper to lift slightly and whilst I’m sure it’ll hold without the tape, I don’t want to be that guy who halts a trackday session if a Marshall thinks the...
Another shot from Croft - looks faster than it was.
Lots of changes to make before getting to Croft on May 13th so I better get my finger out.
Essential things to do
Fit new custom Radiator, wire-up fans and controller
Fit Roll centre correction kit
Fit the ASTs with new springs and top...
So my next daft questions. There’s a small tab on one pad (per side), I assume you fitted these right way around - as in it slotted into the caliper piston correctly? Also, do the sliders move freely - caliper moves side to side? Is the handbrake adjusted correctly - not too tight?
If you got...
I can help but you’ll have to be more specific as there’s lots of bolts, many of which are UNF (fine thread) and not your usual off the shelf bolts that you can find at Halfords.
Dm me some pictures of the ones that don’t fit and I’ll work through it with you.
I have new AST 5100s which I purchased for my 182 RB. The plan was to drive on the road and do the occasional Trackday. Digressive pistons were mentioned by AST to me but as I’m not racing in a series, they didn’t think it was necessary.
I opted for the softer 70Nm springs, without top mounts...
Ball joints ok? Nipped up tight?
Personally, I'd strip it all down, clean everything up, replace anything that looks worn and if it's still knocking, drive it in the knowledge that nothing is going to fall off.
There's always a good turnout for this event at Croft Circuit.

Our second-year attending the event with a display from some of our manufacturers.
They've even talked me into displaying my little Renault Clio 182 🤣...
I got mine off eBay (Steering Specialists Limited) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251728117418
It's a genuine refurb unit, sold on an exchange basis (for full warranty). I had heard hit-and-miss reviews, but the one they sent me was bang on and the steering has been great since.
I suppose if I...
Don't lose comfort though. Keep your heater and electric windows in at the very least. My ACW racing windows in my last circuit car were a pain and if you've not got a heater in, you'll not be able to enjoy winter trackdays. Have you got rid of that damper under the bonnet, just below the top...
Javelin no doubt. They should have picked that up before letting you out tbf.
It's funny how relaxed you think you are on a track day. And yet I still do daft things or forget stuff and I'm something like 40-plus track days in.
I'm hoping to have my top mounts and new springs delivered in...
Go on then, I’ll donate 5 litres of it as it seems a popular subject right now.
@Sunglasses_Ron If you could let me know where to send it, I’ll just order it and get them to ship directly.
