Not a huge amount to report on the Clio front, thought id update this for updates sake. Had planned on having the rear beam and subframe off over winter to get the underside undersealed and everything else powdercoated along with some new bushes here, there and everywhere. Alas life happens and...
SOS motorsport in Falkirk are a great bunch of guys, I didn’t have my 172 mapped there although I had planned to after hearing good reviews from other renault owners.
I ended up with a mapped ecu from EFi and got SOS to put it on the rollers afterwards incase the map needed any tweaks. However...
The ex drove my current clio before I did also driven pretty much every other vehicle I’ve had. No issues with her driving it. She did have an Abarth at one point as well, decent wee driver.
Another vote for pure motorsport exhaust, really can’t understand how it is so quiet with a decat and no centre silencer. Add either of the other 2 in and I’m sure it would be fairly quiet.
In reply to the lower down power feeling compromised, I don’t think I’ve noticed that on mine. It might be my style of driving but I’m either just pootling around so not using power low down anyway or if I’m driving quick I’m going through the gears so I’m up in the Rev range where the power is...
Mine is 8 degrees 197 cams mapped ecu from EFI.
The only negative I’ve found is if it’s not properly warmed up it doesn’t idle very well until warm, it’s cut out on me a couple of times at the lights until it’s warm.
Mine also is just a summer/weekend car so doesn’t get used daily. It...
Picking up my 12 today coming from my fairly haggard 7plus that I’ve held on to for dear life! I will miss the Touch ID but looking forward to a slight camera upgrade and a battery that lasts longer than 5 minutes will be a bonus also.
Had the Clio along at Sos Motorsport in Falkirk today for some power runs to see where it was at.
The engine came out of a ph1 with the cams and ARP rod bolts already fitted. the mapped ecu was previously mapped by EFI to a similar spec'd engine to mine.
Wanted to see if all was well and i'm...
Nothing huge to report, Car is booked in for the 21st of October to get some power runs at SOS motorsport. The ECU was from a previously mapped car with very similar spec however not identical, So would like to see where we are at with the graph and go from there. If its going to need a tweak in...
Thats it tucked away for winter, gave the car a final dusting off got all the road grime off it, shall keep it turned over got a few bits and bobs id like to address over winter. Little rust patch under the fuel filler cap and some preventative maintenance in at the inner arches. They are in no...
Continued the tidy up on the car although i've not taken any pictures of the new grille and scuttle panel push rivets, also re assembled the rear wiper with a new arm and all the gubbins, on trying to get It working again I must have disturbed a connector on the motor so have to pick up a good...
Next up was my slam panel/ bonnet seal, Again had been burst since Ive took ownership of the car:

Getting back to the little odds and ends to tidy the Clio up I had ordered a few things mixture of eBay and RPD.
First up was something that's annoyed me since the day I got the Clio 2 years ago, getting rid of the little anodised screws/washer that someone had used to hold the arch liners on...
Had the car out over the weekend again as a friend was up in Scotland at a drift weekend. First I've driven it on the new wheels and tyres and can safely say I'm properly impressed with the AD08rs, even just at cruising speed having that extra side wall is lovely.

cheers mate, if you saw the turinis up close you’d realise why they are off for the time being. Couple have corroded all the powder coat off the backs of the spokes and inner wheel.
I definitely prefer the look on turinis they will be back on at some point. But I also love the...
Thanks. I will definitely have them back on at some point, undecided on either silver or anthracite although im going to enjoy it on the 2118s for the time being while I decide
Thank you, I've personally not had any paintwork done, but the more I nosey around it I recon at some point it has had some paint on the quarters and possibly the doors. although the match is that good that possibly the previous owners have kept it in good nick, I've seen many other flamers that...
Another few miles under its belt over the last couple of weeks, really enjoying the car at the minute.
Went down to Inveraray from Glasgow and back to meet up with a good friend. Got some pics of both flamers together and he relieved me of some cash in exchange for some wheels!
