Gutted for you Ben.
This was one of the more famous RBs and a testament to how reliable the engines are with the proper ownership.
I was looking forward to buying that on eBay for 99p lol
Such a shame it got killed by a random Doris :(
Hi and welcome.
Generally gearbox leaks (bright oil) are from the selector seal. If you’ve never wiped it and that’s as much as you’ve got then I’d say that’s not too bad. Of course the wind blows the oil about so never easy to pin point exactly where it’s coming from.
Given where the darker...
If the wheels were new, could it be they came loose? I had to use a dremel to rough up the fascia’s where the nut touches the surface of the wheel. Heard plenty of horror stories of wheels coming loose on trackdays or when wheels have been refurbed.
If you mean number 3 in this diagram, they’re an M6 flanged bolt. The last lot I bought where from Westfield fasteners. Flange Bolt Hex Head (Unserrated) M6 x 25mm in Bright Zinc 8.8. I think Halfords sell something similar.
Yeah genuine ones are pressed into the disc. There might be some 3rd party variants like that as well but I’ve only ever fitted genuine on the rear.
Ah my bad reference the coilovers. I wasn’t aware you had BC’s installed. Apologies 😊
Assuming the rear discs are genuine Renault, the bearings are built in.
With regards to handling/ride/setup, Renault Sport tuned them so they were Road compliant and progressive when pushing on.
As soon as you start messing with springs, spacers, bushes etc you’re naturally going to be...
If they’re half the price of usual retail then probably too good to be true, and dangerous.
Sabelt make the 330mm RenaultSport wheels without the logos. I bought mine a few years back now, so prices might have shot up.
If you’re not fussy those are the same wheels and a lot less than the one...
There are 2 pumps, one for headlamp washer jets, one for wipers. The screen washer jet pump is the larger of the two, so I’m wondering if the previous pump (the shorter one), has always been wrong.
(4) being the shorter washer jet, (17) being the windscreen washer.
I replaced both pumps on...
My 182 BG was awful when cold. It bounced all over the place until it warmed up. Had it at EFi to get it mapped plus the cold map sorted but it was always the same. I Threw the parts cannon at it, replaced seals, gaskets but it was always the same from cold. Once up to temperature it was great...
I was looking at trendlines for my 182. I even enquired about the above seats, but had heard they’re not the most comfortable. And I didn’t fancy hitting circuits with a 2 piece seat. I Went for new Pole Positions in the end and although I can feel every bump in the road now, the seats are so...
I ARP bolts in my dedicated 182 track car, as it was always at maximum. Never my road going 182’s. The guy who installed them also builds high performance engines but said I didn’t really need them as it was pretty much a standard engine 186bhp/168 ft torque.
I suppose if you’re pushing the...
It’s a constant fight with rust on these cars so it’s great to see you’re committed to it. If they’ve chopped the rot out, you should get a couple of years out of it before it needs addressing again. Lovely work!
I’d wager it’s your tyres. Trackday tyres like to tramline on our crappy roads. Run PS3s or similar for everyday use, then switch to your 888s for circuit.
Mines the new 8 series. If I fully charge it, then wear it all day and all night, it’ll still have charge the next morning, but by lunchtime it’ll die on me. So I just wear it all day, then charge overnight.
