Group N timing - daily driver - anyone regretted this?

Yeah, that was a bit of a pain for me. Carl is about an hour away from EFi, so it was a bit of a rush getting from his place to Chris for mapping. My car was on a trailer. When I had to get engine work done later on, the place that rebuilt the engine timed it to Group N. They are out in the...

Group N timing - daily driver - anyone regretted this?

Carl (formerly bloke) did my GRP N timing on my 182 track car and then Chris (EFi) mapped it. Results 186 bhp and 168 lbs-ft torque. It went from a sewing machine to being lumpy and would occasionally cut out from time to time. Would I get it done for my daily, yes and no. No, if I was only...

Haha no problem but before you order it, give your local Renault dealer a call. They may be able to get that bolt for you.

More fiddly due to access than hard. Easier with Bumper off.

Also, have you checked with your local dealer? I’ve found getting genuine bolts fairly easy, albeit expensive. Just give them that part number and see what they come up with.

    Lower alternator pivot bolt

The part number for it is 7703002732 or number 11 in the illustration. A quick google search brings up this, which has the same part number so chances are it’s the same bolt. https://www.kamracing.co.uk/renault-oe-rear-bush-retaining-bolt-nut-renault-clio-mk2.html

    In car camera

As above. You can’t beat modern Go Pros for the money. Hook them up with free software like Race Render after a track day and you can get Lap times for analysis. I use a 6 and 7. Mount one behind the seat on the cage and the other mounted to the dash. You get some decent footage from them.

    Keeper 182 Project

They look so cool. @frayz lowered his steering I think? I got my airbags clipped out. Has J3_sgy put the originals back in? I follow him but he doesn't post as often as he used to.

What ET are your TD Pro Race? And do you need a permanent alloy or just one for CSF? I’ll tell you why I ask. I’m at Donny next sat with my mate who has a few spares. He may lend you one or he may not. I don’t mind asking for you.

AST 5100 set up (out of the box)

I’ve just purchased some brand new AST 5100s for my RB 182. The plan is to get them set up at a local company. I’m thinking should I remove the old dampers/springs and refit the new suspension prior to set up. Are these things set up at factory? I guess the obvious thing is to make sure the...

Strange when i enter 543A09780R into Autodoc I only get one option. That part number is the kit, so it includes everything. They're showing at RPD so as has been suggested get one from them or your local dealer - https://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/steering-suspension/543a09780r/

Buzzing when letting off at high rpm

This! My exhaust used to resonate badly under heavy acceleration. Couldn't get to the bottom of it so just lived with it. Then I bought some new exhaust hanger brackets - the ones attached to the boot floor - and some mounts and low and behold it sorted it. The hangers were so minging they...

Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

I noticed that just after I put an order in for some AST 5100. They told me 3 weeks but after not hearing anything for 5 I got onto them. They came good so all was well in the end. They've been around a long time. Such a shame.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Not a lot happening as I’ve been out of the country for 3 weeks, but back now and eager to crack in with the next phase. In my last update I mentioned I’d lost my locking wheel nut key. Thanks to @JamesBryan sending me a link, I was able to track down a replacement. It worked out at £45 plus...
