Thanks for the feedback 👍
I'm quite happy with what I ended up with, but the journey, the production, the editing, was completely different to how I normally operate.
A good few tweaks to my workflow will sort that though.
Main lesson learned is to get at least twice as much b-roll as I think...
As someone who has next to zero knowledge of what you're talking about, I find this fascinating. Also, since viewing and reading this thread, I've had some Blender themed suggested videos pop-up on YouTube!
A 5 minute blast while I filmed the rear brake lights to see at what point in the regeneration phase they activate. Illustrates quite well that the dynamic traction control in Sport mode, is nothing of the sort.
RTX 3060 enabled 😁
Pretty straightforward really, I just didn't know where to start.
I'll revise this, it's just improved by an order of magnitude. Insane.
Thanks all for the suggestions, can't wait to get my next project pulled in for editing!
As before, this probably doesn't qualify being a laptop and all, but meh.
Had a couple of weeks with this MSI i9 purchase and life is very good indeed. It's absolutely ripping through everything I've thrown at it so far. I ended up unable to give it the full 8TB hoped for as despite just...
I've said this way too many times but I wish I never sold my 172 Cup. Owned from new, 125k miles, damn my sensible 5 minutes when I thought a 200 would be better instead of a daily alongside the Cup. Sniff.
Aircon though, I have strong feelings about that, rarer it may be but it's the reason...
What about the gearbox/diff? 50kgs?
What does the exhaust weigh? 30kgs?
Nothing too exciting, just trying to work out how the rolling chassis weights of my i3s and my 172 Cup compare.
1000 kg kerb-weight is what caught my attention...and it has a faint whiff of BMW i3 in the quirky design/material choices.
If they're available when my i3 lease ends, I could see myself having one.
Thanks all for the responses and advice on a video editing laptop.
Trigger just pressed on a 17 inch MSI Pulse with an i9-12900H and RTX 3060 8GB. Looks like I should be able to give it a full 8TB of capacity too. Perfect.
Much as I'd love to, a desktop is not an option...I don't have a permanent base of operations at home so setup wherever I have to for an editing session.
You're the first to mention ti cards...I've seen some with these...what's the deal with them?
A 3050 ti is a better thing than a non-ti...
This probably doesn't qualify for this thread as it's only a laptop but CBA making a bespoke one, so...
Video editing and web browsing. That's all I do.
Will an i9 be that much more noticeably faster/smoother than a latest gen i7? For video editing/writing only, will a NVIDEA GTX3070 be quicker...

Eufy 2K security cameras, £65 each from Amazon.
I have the doorbell and base unit already.
Any reason I shouldn't grab a couple? Should I wait until their other 2K camera is discounted instead?
I'm tempted to chop my 6 in for a 7 Pro...based on the watch freebie and with a some solid value in the 6, a few hundred gets me much needed camera/video improvements.
Update on the charge socket pin thing; this little f***er has been extracted this morning...
However, it was wedged in so firmly that upon extraction it launched itself into the wider unknown, so that pin now has no tip. It still connects to our chargers OK though so normal service has been...
They work fine for me...the longest time I've spent in the driving seat has been an hour though...they lack lumbar adjustment but I've never felt a need for or missed that in any of my cars.
First problem surfaced with this thing today...
Went to connect it to the charger at lunchtime and the cable wouldn't seat properly. I eventually got charging with a colleague's cable bit couldn't fathom why mine wasn't going fully in.
Just took some pictures and spotted this...
The tip of...
Re. the brake lights, yes they do...but I'm not sure at what level of braking regen (and therefore retardation) they're triggered. I think it may also vary in each of the driving modes as the pedal position translation to the motor is way softer.
A video on this will follow...I'll have one on...
A friends lovely E36, recently given a complete suspension/engine/drivetrain refresh following a complete bare shell respray last year
A few beauties at The Kennels
Then I went to my first ever Porsche meet......... :ROFLMAO:
I don't, I accept all defaults and just let it all run.
i learned long ago that obsessing over quantity, type, frequency, and placement yielded very little change in my earnings per 1000 views, undetectable in fact!
Having said that, with a different content type it may well be more relevant...
