    MarkCup's BMW i3S

That's the best description of it yet! And the fact that you say that, when it's now a nine year old design and has been discontinued, shows how absurd what BMW did here is. Hopefully I'll get a chance to film an update video in it this weekend...to showcase the little thing's propensity to...

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

Yeah I only charge it at work Rob, Monday morning after battering at the weekend, and Friday morning in preparation for that battering. So far my app is showing that I've fed it 493kWh of juice and that's allowed me to cover 1,877 miles. What that works out at cost wise I've not yet calculated...

    YouTube Monetisation

To give you an idea I hit that £1k tax free level with roughly 350k views, and 20k hours of watch time per annum. So long as you're under that sort of level each year you should have no tax worries.

    YouTube Monetisation

On the tax thing, you're permitted £1,000 of online earnings per annum before you need to pay any additional tax. Once you hit that level you'll need to declare it on an HMRC self-assessment tax return each year.

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

Two months and 1,600 miles in now, and this morning's commute was the very first time I've driven this thing in the rain. F*** me. Sport Mode engaged, traction disabled, little 'drifts' everywhere, what a fun thing!

    The Cars Spotted Appreciation Thread

YE53 ZKW is what gave me my username...that's my car bought new in 2003!!! Chaps I sold it to in 2011 bought it as a track car with Castle combe being their circuit of choice. Where was this? I drove 125k miles in that thing, sniff. I'm so happy it still lives on! Caged an all, nice!

    YouTube Monetisation

I monetised sometime back in 2006, whatever I did to set it all up I've completely forgotten, and it will have all changed now massively anyway. What I can say is once setup, you'll have access to analytics on all of your content, you'll see the daily updates on earnings by video and overall...

    Cheap Ferrari F355

What happened that day made my wife buy me a voucher for a trackday at Castle Combe. That made me buy a Clio 172 Cup. A legend was born.

    Cheap Ferrari F355

Based on what I remember of my 4 laps around Thruxton in one, they're wonderful. Very direct feeling, lovely shift feel, clack clack clack, and sounded glorious. If money were no object I'd have one in a heartbeat. I really should find that old footage an upload it again without the music 🤣

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

They barely changed, apart from many of the early ones carrying a 130 kg range extender petrol engine generator whereas all of the run out models are battery only so a good chunk lighter. The S model I have gains 14 bhp and about 20 lbs ft, 40mm wider track, wider wheels/tyres, 10mm lower...

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

I'm now almost six weeks into driving this thing, between myself and Sarah we've covered 1,355 miles, and I'm liking electrical propulsion (and this car in particular) more and more with every passing mile. My thought's so far... Design? It's wonderful. The aloominum chassis, aloominum...

Renault going all electric from 2025

I think it absolutely is. Eventually you'll have an A110 EV that weighs no more than the current ICE version, has plenty of range, and charges in 30 minutes. Apart from no noise from several thousand controlled explosions every minute, that's every anti-EV box ticked...and it's not really that...

Renault going all electric from 2025

Ignoring the fact that no one has yet made a light EV sports car, the only things you lose by having an electric drivetrain are vibration and noise. That's it. My i3 is far removed from being like my Clio 172 Cup, but if that electric drivetrain could be packaged into a 172 Cup body without...

Renault going all electric from 2025

50kgs aside, you have just described my i3S. Fun it is, very entertaining...but not truly engaging. As for the lack of noise, honestly, and having just got back from a Donnington trackday listening to my flat-six scream at 7,200 RPM, on the drive into work this morning in the i3 I don't miss...

    My 6 sessions at Blyton...

Nope, they have nothing. The gen 2 Cayman R came with one I believe but I think that's it. The warning you're seeing is low brake pads, it's permanently lit because one of the four wear sensors I've got plugged in and cable tied out the way is triggering it for some reason. I unplugged and...

    My 6 sessions at Blyton...

This one's been live since Sunday but not posted in here as I've been a bit distracted with a nice 3 day break and trackday at Donnington. So here's the delightful but sadly misguided @Flat Eric , penultimate session of the day 😁

    My 6 sessions at Blyton...

After lunch was session 4 featuring lots of chat with Mr. @DaveDreads and a short cameo from @Filters I think it was? Had a couple of good tussles throughout this one, brakes still good, engine no longer smoking, tyres remained next to useless 😁

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

Turns out whatever caused this flat proceeded to eject itself so we've no idea what it was, and also that it was slap bang in the middle of the tread so easily repairable. Car collected and now on charge so I can make it home 🤣

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

Currently I have no idea, I've just dropped the keys off so will see. They're really unique sizes so if it does need replacing there's only two options I think. Painted calipers by a previous owner I think. He's definitely running steel brakes.

    MarkCup's BMW i3S

One month and just over 1,000 miles into this now and it's a compromised, deceptive, but truly wonderful thing to drive. This morning though, argh Dash warning popped up half way to work, rate of deflation wasn't too rapid so limped in and made it with 15 PSI remaining. Luckily there's an ATS...
