If I was you (and assuming you’re in this for the long haul) I would get it up on axel stands and get the rear beam, fuel tank, side skirts and exhaust off.
assess the situation properly.
if repairing all of that is beyond you, get someone in to cut out and weld in all the new metal, then you...
Got a new one in the office, much more manly, and seems extremely well built.
It’s actually exhausting to play as the steering is so fight, the seat chucks you around and the butt kicker rattles your teeth out. I don’t know how some people play them for hours. I’m done in after 20 minutes!
I was thinking that. Take it off and put it in the glovebox. Put it back on when I sell it.
After @Ant1 selling it for £150, I don’t want this one getting damaged or go walkies!
@Brigsy - I used this for a looooong road trip last week. Did nearly 70mpg! (Think it was 68.8??)

I think they are...
That’s really really poor. I did my apprenticeship in a machine shop and our tolerances whilst we were using the machines for the first time were stricter than what you’ve actually paid for!
Just dropped it off to the lord and master of RenaultSport.
very much looking forward to driving it back as I’ve not driven it yet. (Zero history of the belt being done! 😂)
The rear wings were blended when they did the sills, and that’s the bit that is blistering. Which is a shame as the blend is flawless (to 99.9% of people) and if it wasn’t for the blisters I probably wouldn’t be doing any paint at all. But they definitely need doing and the bumper has some minor...
I’ll also get a new bonnet catch… 😂
And here are the current tyres…
🤮
and here is the blistering on the wings. Can’t have that.
and the reason I bought it…
Afternoon all!
I thought I’d get a little project thread going as once it’s done it will probably be for sale as since buying it, I’ve had a change of heart and no longer want to hoard as many cars as I have. So here goes…
69,000 miles, completely standard, 2 pervious owned and a little bit...
@Luke_Exc - see if any 24h petrol stations (or similar) have those little ratchet straps for suitcases. I have been known to use one of those on a gearbox mount before. We only moved it around the yard but if you’re gentle it may do the trick to get you home.
I had a Brian James Micromax (or minnow - who her it was) and that fitted in a single garage.
it was an old house though, 50’s, so not sure how small a new build garage is?
