Here are some D40 shots with 55-200 VR in overcast conditions, full size can be seen on my Flickr account.
And with 18-55 Lens kit
And nearly full size crop of the robin:
+1!!!
The 400D may have some fancy extras but it will not produce any better pics than the D40 (when using same spec lenses). Many prefer the D40 for its grip, ease of use and the quality of the kit lens. I'm not saying the D40 is better, its just a case of what people prefer. There is probably...
I really cant agree lol! In the flash the Corsa VXR just looks too high, too narrow and needs to go down!
Smaller rims but looks much better lower IMO!

Corsa VXR just looks way too high! Thorney motorsport for your suspension FTW!
There is an Arden Blue one in our showroom.... just needs to be lower, on another note, there is an astra Nurburg... which is really nice apart from the silly graphics!!
D40 with kit lens is £100 cheaper, then get the 55-200 VR for £130 and you have a great package that wiill take just as good pics as the D60. Thats just my opinion anyway!!
The 18-200 Nikon VR is a much better lens, and IMO is well worth the extra expense over the Sigma. Its costs around £120 more, but money that is well worth saving up for!!!
Its very poor in any light other than sunlight, its low light capabilities are way off the VR Nikon equivalents. Images are not very sharp, it struggles to auto focus, and even though I enjoyed using it, when I looked back at the images I took, the Nikon 55-200 VR pics were so much better.
I...
Hellingly like a lot of old asylums is a listed building so it just site there. They built the new hospital round the back which is modern and much more secure!
Trouble is, when the old Hillingly was closed, the new one was not built so some of the people in there were just let out!!
I went in to the old Hellingly Asylum (Hellingly Hospital) about 8 years a go.... would love to go back with my camera now but its got guard dogs and CCTV around the place now... bugger!
Someone got some good pics though:

Dead creepy inside...
Canons are for people who need an image to make themselves look good. Nikon are for true to themselves photographers... gay, straight or bi ;)
(I also ditched the d40 lens kit... although superior to the 400d's)
^^ true about the AF-S 50, would do very well I think.
The seller even sent me a free UV filter.... which is going in the bin as the quality of it is... well... crap!
I was looking at the Nikon 18-200VR but from Honk Kong it was still near £400... The sigma came in at £230 delivered. Its a heavy beast (600g) but feels very solid and well built. Has zoom lock too which is a bonus at the Nikon has quite bad lens creep.
Upside... ap starts at 3.5.... downside...
