f**k me, we had an F40 the other day. A f**king Ferrari F40! And now we're expected to believe some fool appreciated spotting a mother f**king Nissan Karen wagon? s**t, @Yorkshire Pudding wheres the sea at? If this is how it's going I'm getting in there ASAP.
Welcome aboard. There are some epic track car builds in the projects section from budget track cars to supercharged nutters and even a few k-swapped clio's. All the help you'll ever need is here somewhere, just ask.
Surprised it didn't sell but if you feel like you'll still be competitive in it in the new class then why not build as required. At least you know it's a good base and doesn't need fixing first 👍.
...But when cleaning the trim I noticed the side repeaters have some green inside them so they will need replacing.
I just love the pearl
I still had the reat of the car to wash but at this point the headlamp bulbs arrived so I decided to get that ticked off the list.
The driver side...
The mk3 has top mount covers but as you can see in my last post the top of the strut is under water. The covers have a bead of squishy foam on the bottom but as theres a gap in it its obviousley not designed to keep water out which seems a bit odd if the water level can rise high enough to flood...
While the bonnet was up I decided to have a look under the scuttle. With all that muck and tree deritus there wasn't much chance it would be dry. The wiper arms came off nice and easily so at least I didn't crack the windscreen like I did removing the 182 wipers!
There's drains in there...
Ah spring cleaning😊, lets crack on shall we?
The first thing I wanted to sort out was the divers seat, I felt like Short Round driving it where it was😆. I was happy to see that the seats are bolted from inside the car and the wires are also easy to get to. In other words totally opposite to the...
That looks very nice indeed (y). Door lock buttons are a common failure, at least it opens mine bloody doesnt most of the time🤣. I'm not sure you can get the micro switches seperate for the clio like you can for the megane though. I'ts something I'm currently looking into. The recaro base has 4...
If you get a starter from ecp do not leave the building without looking at it first. I bought the expensive one and it was fucked;
I took it back and swapped it for the cheapest one which looked brand new, but when fitted just didn't work. All available ones are refurbished.
I stripped and...
Be patient is my advice, and go test as many as you can which isn't easy as they aren't all that common. I test drove the first one that happened to turn up for sale locally and it was mighty tempting being liquid yellow but had its issues so I resisted.
Keep your eye on the usual sources and...
Want to buy it? Dirt cheap 🤣
That was the plan for the seats but seeing what they are selling for these days they'd pay for belts and fresh suspension on the 200 so I can then spend the money I have for that on mods 😏.
No, stoppit. I'm not modifying this car at all...
People are bloody odd! The last owner bought it in October 2018 and the mot expired March 2019. He's owned it longer than any other person yet just had it sat there!
What else could need attention I wonder?
Well the spoiler needs painting.
And the tail lights un-painting.
The rear beam has more rust than the 182's.
The wheels were painted spastic blue while on the car. So its on the calipers, the discs, the edges of the bumper and the bottom of the...
Welcome to what will surely become a tale of woe and regret! After owning my 182 for 6 years I've only gone and bought myself a Clio 200. I have always been a fan of the mk3 RS shape but for some unknown reason more recently I switched from preferring the 197 front to that of the 200. When the...
