Wow, actual overtaking! It's amazing to think that so many fans from "back in the day" actually still stick with it, as compared to that today's racing is an absolute farce.
Fantastic to watch, on-board footage of Tony Dolley flipping his 206 GTi in the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship...

lol that's classic.
We never had a brolly or anything, me and the missus huddled under a car blanket and sat it out watching Russ Swift. When it eased off and we looked around literally everyone had thrown in the towel and disappeared to shelter!
Oddly enough I never noticed a single forecast on Friday that suggested this.
Neither did anyone else judging by the lack of clothing most people exhibited. Typical though, 5 days in a sweltering office with 30+ temperatures everyday, you get to a day off and all hell breaks loose!
It was certainly the worst event (in terms of organisation, layout and excessive unrelated track action) I've been to there this year. The usual race days are superb imo, especially if you park your butt at Quarry and stay put for the day.
I love the view though and won't concede that one...
Quite a car park this evening, came for a wedding reception at the hotel, pulled up in the car park and aside from several genuine rally cars sat in the car park (a strange site if ever I saw one) including a gorgeous works Fiesta ST there were a few Clios in the vicinity...
Silver 172
Black...
^^ It's being cleaned tomorrow. It's the longest S25 has ever been without a clean (2 weeks now, including a track day during that) and it's making me feel sad!
Really?! Best venue for viewing I've been to in the country. Loads of spots to choose from, virtually everywhere is free from safety fences and you can get very close to the track in places. Echo the comments about the RB5s, had a lump in my throat seeing Burns' Dad leading 50 identical cars...
Mine was the Yozzasport one, yay I've been spotted!
Noticed loads personally,
1 Cup with black 1.2s (I think),
3 other Cups
4 Racing Blue's (no stripes)
2 Silver 172s
2 Black 182s
1 Trophy
1 Monaco Blue 172 with big "Renaultsport" logo in the rear
Aside from the Clio's...others...
Trophy is a road car surely? All the changes from the 182 were to improve it on the road.
Anyhow, luggage net + mats = £50? I've got both in my 172 Cup due to Ebay purchases, not hard things to add in!
One thing worth considering is resale value, Trophy's appear to be holding value better...
We stayed sat where were around the track, between 12-12:30 it just lashed it down, we covered ourselves with a blanket but got pretty soaked. Missed most of Russ Swift's display which was a shame, couldn't see through the spray though.
The Mitsubishi WRC05 and the red MK1 Escort were both...
Enjoyed a very very wet day at Castle Combe today, don't think I've ever got that wet (was in shorts + t-shirt due to the BBC Weather's prediction of "sun" today!), some stunning cars on show and on track. Sadly I couldn't stay all day so didn't really see any of the paddock and managed to miss...
Best looking Clio I've ever seen? Possibly. I never even knew the Mk1 came in this colour, looks awesome. Is it pretty rare?
(pics not mine btw, passed on to me recently)
As above, get a decent one and you will most likely be fine. Never spend loads of money on components and then chuck a crappy PSU in, I always find it odd that so many people do this!
I have a W810i and literally cannot get the net to work on it. I'm on Orange, downloaded the file from their site to activate it but still nothing and they can't seem to help much.
Anyone else had problems?
Zoo Keeper - the greatest game ever? Played this more than any other game ever, soooooooo addictive.
The rest as above really, Mario Kart, Mario Bros, Brain Training, Tetris.
And the best GBA game I've bought for it: Racing Gears Advance.
Someone else has told me this before when I mentioned I was at 1/1000 or more. I've tryed it and still not managed to get a good shot at a slower speed though! I just get overexposed and/or blurry shots. Must try harder.
I'm using a regular camera with similar settings so hopefully I can help.
Basically for panning shots, set it with the manual settings to about 1/250th, then follow the car from the side and fire away at the desired position, best to turn on the burst mode to increase your chances of a good...
Have plenty of track pics I've personally taken but (obviously) not of my own car, think I'm up to about 600 Clio track pics now from the past year or so...
(time to dig out some old favourites ;))
I literally haven't been able to touch my steering wheel in certain places the last two days leaving from work, incredibly hot.
I admit for the first time in 18 months I've wanted aircon these last 2 days, it's really not pretty when you get out of the car and look at your clothes!
