Classic/Sports Car trackday at Castle Combe today, strangely quiet in terms of spectators but the track action was fun as always.
Took the opportunity to have a play with the settings a bit and vary my usual technique, pretty happy but it was sooooo hot and sunny that it was a nightmare to...
1:27?! Fook me thats rapid. I've seen MarkCup do a 1:27 and he was flying. I guess its a good circuit for the Vee though as long as you don't mess up Quarry.
The start of something good imo. However as others have said, either go subtle or go all out and properly sticker it up. At the moment it's a bit inbetween, but certainly getting there.
Tim's car looks great in the metal. Loads of work done but all pretty subtle and in keeping with the style of the car, just how I like it. Interior looks nice too :)
I generally dislike 17s as well, but with the H&Rs they seem to sit just right, to be honest I didn't even realise they were...
Cheers for pointing that out, I always use Photobox, awesome prints. I did a trial a few months back for a website and ordered a poster print and a few 7x5s from every online printer I could find. Some were bloody awful, but Photobox won by a mile. So quick too, get them uploaded before midday...
You haven't put pictures on 172cup.co.uk of "your" A19 CUP. If you think you have, feel free to let us know which username you have posted them under on that particular site.
As it happens...not only do I know and have met the owner of A19 CUP as he lives local to me, but I own and run...
I do about 16k a year, no problem at all. On my commute I get close to 40mpg, but on motorways this can rise to 45mpg without too much trouble. Easily take that down to 30mpg at the weekends though, it's so flexible.
I can't understand why people are so scared of 50k+ RS Clio's, if anything...
They look better in the Summer, my Mondial Blue is doing all sorts of things in this sunshine, looks amazing! Sometimes purple (early morning and late evening), sometimes it looks a lot like a darker Racing Blue (midday) and occasionally it even looks like Mondial Blue.
I don't have a 350D (or D-SLR) so I don't quite get the level of adjustability that you guys will get, but the concept is all the same...
For panning shots I firstly where possible try to manually focus using a bit of trial and error, getting a few static shots (high speed, usually 1/800 or...
That's where I fall short, 432mm but I don't have the resolution to do any serious cropping, so tempting to upgrade (again!)
Thanks for the Petrol Blue pics too, love it!
Mine's standard, at Janspeed I got 144.5bhp at the wheels and 131.4lbs torque, so yup that seems thereabouts considering its on different rollers and conditions etc (we did mine in winter!)
Hehe, I could get 60mpg out of my 1.2 Dynamique if I thought about it, I was aiming for 50mpg out of the Cup but I can't argue with those figures.
45mpg out of a car that hits 60mph in 6.5 seconds, can't be anything that comes close?!
Agree completely, although on my commute etc I've realised there isn't much point as I always end up in traffic - therefore may as well conserve as much fuel as possible for what is always going to be a dull run.
The last week has been a practice session to prove to myself it can be done, I...
Decided to have a bit of an economy drive this week, over my normal 300 mile driving week (no motorways, some town driving and lots of b-roads) I get around 34mpg.
This past week, again about 300 miles...
Quality stuff, did a quick calculation and it matches up with actual petrol...
Sooooooo looking forward to this one, a reason to dig my PS2 out again after several months of neglect. Shipped yesterday so all being well it will arrive tomorrow for post-World Cup multiplayer mayhem.
Tried the PC demo and I'm amazed that they have pretty much retained the original fast...
Picked a load up at FCS, got them in my car ready for when I spot one without a sticker! I think Area Reps have some so you can pick them up at local meets etc.
Popped to Tesco tonight during the siege on this particular town (not sure if anyone saw the news, someone went on a random shooting spree with an air-rifle or something), anyhows, 3 Cups all parked up in the car park including mine! Not sure what the chances of that are.
Managed to put a...
"At the front things are more aggressive, with much broader wings and a considerably wider stance to the front wheels."
So true, looks wide as hell when you stand right in front of one, almost reminds me of the V6 head-on.
Not sure, seen it once or twice around here though, usually early mornings. Will try to remember next time.
Pleased I was spotted Ash, nobody ever spots me! I was probably coming back from my 24k service in Exmouth, they cleaned it for me so I can't take the praise this time!
Go for it, I think it's one thing that people who love Renaultsport Clio's need to do if they ever get the chance, even if it's just for a year as a weekend driver or something. Get it out of your system and enjoy the hell out of it.
Life is short and the roads get more restrictive and...
^^^ quality, check me out in the distance giving it some past those lorries, owned! ;) In fairness they would have probably had me in the twisties though.
I'll wait and see what you're doing Mark, might just come down to Weston in the evening if you are heading that way.
