Sorry, I meant I want to be able to charge it while in a case, I'm not worried about it being waterproof.
Basically I need a case with a hole in the side for the charging cable. The official ones are £LOL, and the Hero3 is too new for there to be cheap cases knocking about eBay I can butcher.
Its great if you mount the camera somewhere thats a bit awkward to get to, so you can change settings etc.
The only problem is leaving the WiFi on munches the battery.
I want to start fiddling around doing some timelapse but I want to do some long ones (all nighters/24 hours) and the official...
Yep. Standard legal plates must have that number thing on and the makers name and postcode.
Plain ones can be ordered, but would (should, depends how vigilant they are) fail an MOT and I think get you a fine if stopped.
They are good. I've used them on a couple of wet track days and they are predictable and still quite grippy.
The issue comes on the road where you get puddles at the edge so only 2 of the 4 wheels hit it. The aquaplaning can cause quite sudden jolts in direction. Its the same with anything with...
Try the Fake Factory Cinematic Mod. No idea if it works on Mac, but it bumps the graphics right up and makes playing though HL2 now feel a lot less dated.
Plus if your feeling rapey there is a selection of high def Alyx models for you to choose from.
I spent a long time looking for a cheap Hero2, but they weren't that cheap.
I ended up finding a Hero3 Silver with £50 off that made it cheaper than buying a Hero2 and WiFi backpack and Diving case. When you add in the extra stuff the 3 comes with as standard it isn't that bad. The Black...
Yeah, of course. I meant in terms of what you would actually want to timelapse. Usually if you want to timelapse something it will be something that lasts a long time, like stars over night so 8+ hours.
If you plug it into a PC it wont work, but if you plug it into just a charge cable it will...
Thats the problem with time lapse videos. They nom the battery. I might buy a second case and cut a slot in it so I can run a charge cable into it to leave it going for much longer.
Thats odd. You can hear the few points where the mount rattles or the case hits the bumper, so its not that. Sounds like an internal static thing?
What model is it?
Do you use the waterproof case or the skeleton back door?
And what king of rattling? GoPros are held quite tightly in the case so it won't be from that. It will be from a mount or something loose. Have you used the little white anti vibration thing?
Got one mainly for track days. Helmet mounted cameras give much more interesting videos that the rather sterile fixed headrest mount I used to use.
Took it paintballing too, which was quite cool. And karting.
The only problem is that I end up with hours of footage of which only very small bits...
I was unlucky it was on. Its got a life of its own. Usually it comes on if you move a seat. I expect the tester moved the seat to drive into the MOT bay and it came on, as it wasn't on when I dropped the car off.
Dam French electrics.
The tester phoned up and said the airbag light was on because it didn't have an airbag. I told him it had resistors and it was the cables under the seat. He hung up and phoned back an hour later to say it passed and they reset the light with diagnostics.
So I think he almost failed it due to...
Snap.
I'm well aware of the extra risk I introduced by removing the airbag. But saying that anyone who doesn't strip, cage, harness and bucket seat their car before going anywhere near a track is an idiot is a an opinion either bore from some bizarre form of track day snobbery, or simply...
So he doesn't have a cage? So the belts are anchored to the floor, i.e. they are waaaay outside the specified safety limits on the angle belts can be mounted at and if he has a head on crash he is going to crush his spine?
Sounds real safe. Best get round there quick and insist he buys a roll...
