Few more bits collected, springs have arrived after being on order for 3 weeks.
Unpacked the clutch and flywheel for a few pictures.

Just the standard Megane ecu, albeit remapped, just needs unlocked for the the Clio immobiliser and some slight wiring alterations then I'll have full factory functionality.

Got some of it built back up. Arp 'rod bolts in.
Gave the sump a good clean and refitted it with a new gasket.
Got the water pump fitted and put the manifolds back on.

Picked the R26 gearbox up yesterday. Just need to give it a clean.
Stripped the engine a bit more so I can do the conrod bolts and check the bearings.

Stripped the motor down a bit more for a clean and to do all the service bits.
Both manifolds off.
Gave the inlet a scrub up as well.
Cambelt and pulleys off.

Mostly parts updates and engine stripping this week. My tyres turned up, still need to strip and powdercoat the wheels but tyres are ready to go.

Been and picked an engine up today from a ph2 225 cup. A guy on meganesport's own car that he smashed.
Got most of the bits I wanted with it, loom and ecu, some coolant and boost pipes and both manifolds. Even got all the history from the donor car

Not yet mate, all depends on the calendar. Can see me picking and choosing between series, still want to give the hot hatch series a go. Might do a couple of rounds in the CSCC Tintops if there's a car available but probably won't do it in my 182.

Bit of an update. Back after a long weekend racing with the guys in the CSCC Tin Tops series at Donington Park. Had a great weekend with both Clios, both back in one piece! I even got to share the driving in the 172 which I'd never driven in anger, really enjoyed it and went far better than it...

There or there abouts I think, has to be 21w or above, central And possibly has to be at least a certain area. Factory mk3 cup cars run them this way and their light is smaller than a 172 cup one so its good enough for me.

Yeah, car should be lighter and more powerful than it has been previously once I build a 'proper' engine for it. I'm not commiting myself to any series until I see the dates for next year.
