Yeah if you want certification for the cage you need to send a test weld sample. Used to come with 3 scrap bits of tube to weld together and send off and they send you a certificate back. Bit of a joke really as I've seen some of CC's welding and it's not great

Running out of bits to do until I get some bits.
Got the dash refitted though and wired back up.
New battery and cage fitted with charger plug.
Will get the engine built back up this week once the bits turn up and rocker cover gets its usual coat of red paint.
More importantly need to...
Yeah had a look, think it's still getting off the ground, it used to be a good series a few years ago but they stopped running it. Obviously races at all the popular tracks and is a familiar format. There are a few quick fiestas in there at the minute and the Clio is only approx 230bhp/tonne...
Not been hanging around.
Got the seat and harness back in.
Got the wiring back in for the Dash 2, the external GPS sensor and go pro wiring. Just need to re fit the dash.
Seen as @Damo-172cup left his name on it on purpose unthought if get that off asap!
Got the grubby new engine on...
None of the above. Vtec challenge or tintops probably and use the Clio for Tricolore and or 750 hot hatch.
Cheers Graham. Looking forward to racing it again.

So..............
This just happened!
'Nicole' is back in my possession, been on the cards for a few weeks after Damo I sold it to felt he couldn't commit to rebuilding the car due to work etc so told me he was thinking of selling, without even thinking I said I'd have it back! I'll never...
Well it's all finished and going to it's new owner tomorrow. Will make its debut at Rockingham next weekend in the Tricolore series. There's a possibility I might get to share the car in the CSCC Tintop series later in the year too which will be fun.
It saw the light of day last weekend for the...
I enquired about a proper cage for a civic I was building a couple of years back and he was reluctant to send me any pics of previous work, he did eventually and i wasn't impressed, obviously that's just my opinion and may have been the only pics etc he had but I bought a full SD weld in cage...
I fitted mine and I'm sure I made the front edge of the scoop level with the front edge of the roof if that makes sense. Sat in my other 172 now with an SD cage and there's probably more room as the windscreen bar is quite low down. Obviously I don't have a roof X but it's not hard to imagine...
Had it on the ramp today to do a few jobs.
Got the splitter fitted
Started to give it a service too. Engine oil and filter done, spark plugs changed.
Going to get the gearbox oil done tomorrow night and clean and re oil the k+n element and make sure everything is ok for its mot later in...
Well this is unexpected! I've provisionally sold the car now just as its 99% finished. Got to sort a few bits for the new owner as its staying Class F now in the Tricolore Series so new suspension bits to go back on, door cards to source and fit and rear beam bushes to change then, fluid change...
Thought that was your car mark, there can't be that many cars left in the UK now, mine went to Poland and the same week it's sister car was totalled.

Imo it has, last year the series looked set to carry on growing into 2016 and I couldn't tell enough people about the series. Cue 2016 and the calendar is poor, there's caos regarding race weekends and the introduction of 'invitation' races on different days, we've had mixed grids again and the...
The one in the garage is our new 172 Cup Racecar thread for it is HERE it's pretty much a (lot) lower budget clone of my old car that I sold last year, thread for that one is HERE
