Nice one Ant, and Tom!
Get 20mm DRA+ ones from larkspeed. They come with steel inserts and are of top quality. Not cheap at £100ish but definetly worth it.
It doesn't help the style of the wheel. The standard wheels always look a bit odd if they arent a shade of black, grey/anthracite, or silver.
The colour would work better on a different style of wheel, such as turinis, etc.
As @Christ Almighty said, get it lowered and ad some spacers and it...
Thanks my darling, Im really happy with the colour. Yeah i feel the RS decal breaks it up and looks subtle but smart.
But yes, its defo scrappage time now its close to 120k ;)
Unless, forged, megged, super whizzy turbo boosted rebuilt engine with all the bells and whistles..... All of which...
Yep, can only echo what Ant said. If looked after and serviced well, there's no reason why they cannot go on and on, even with some hard pushing on the loud pedal!
Silver 2118's look really good Fletcher. ET38 or 43?
I want that oddy!
At 50k, that's asking to be rescued!
Unfortunately, we're hoping to buy a house this year but if not, I'd definantly contemplate getting that.
In fact, thinking about it, my old ph1 tested me and had a pretty penny spent on it. In the end I gave up.
I regret getting rid of that now, looking back. I've spent more on what it would cost to have got it mint on the cars I've bought since.
These cars can test your patience but it's like...
I love the ph1 dash. I hated it at first but it feels better built the the ph2.
It looks retro now, especially if you have the tape deck still in place! (Obviously the CD ch get still under the seat, or tunepoint connected out the way!)
100% what bloke said is correct. Helper springs are there to locate the main spring when the car is raised/then lowered so its located correctly.
They contain a small amount of poundage, but thats it.
The helper spring in your pic is fine. It's sitting as it should.
Unless your car is raised high, the wheels will have to be removed to alter the adjusted rings.
Seeing this thread and the exclusive in the OP really makes me miss mine.
The OP exclusive looks a great pic and shows how cool they look at the front.
Few of my faves of my old iceberg:
