Managed it with a couple of hours on clip playing about ?
Basically recalibrate the multiplex network to set abs and steering angle sensor to missing
Then recalibrate the clocks to remove course (Trajectory) control system to turn the esp light off. Job done no more network faults or serv...
You can take the heatsheilds off without any problems usually...you could fit some reflective heat shielding or similar if worried about it. Most motorsport places sell a variety of heat management products.
Coming along great?
I need to reconfig the clocks on my kangoo to lose the esp on the 2nd hand ecu/uch i have. Looks pretty simple according to the manual, any tips ? Says batt off, reconfig without turning ign on etc. Do you need to manually input vin on clip ?
Knotted wheel on a grinder will remove factory underseal no bother. Beware its messy and time consuming, wear goggles as a trip to the eye infirmary is not nice (from previous experiences !)
I would spot remove underseal where the rust is forming, clean up with knotted wheel, if metal is thin...
Check out the vin number on the current uch lol also case says n3 uch on the cover but scans as n2 ? Feck knows no wonder the rear door is always open.
Thanks for reading ?
Update
Jc5 129 with speedo sensor collected, get that fitted soon
Took it to FCS last weekend, steady drive there and back drives great with new leads on, no hesitation or nowt. As still on knackered gearbox took it steady as 3/4th gear crunch is quite bad now.
Late night greasy spoon on A453...
Had a great day good to catch up with everybody?
@Djw John we seen you and the RB on the hard shoulder of the M18 on way there was going to pull over but had no gear on us. Hope they get it recovered back to you asap keep on at them
Had the pleasure of helping to remove a seized fiesta tdci injector today. Only had an hr and basic tools which did not really get it going. Inlet off tomorrow to get heavy duty on it ?
Sounds fine to me, some fecking useless mot testers out there. The clio is renowned for sloppy top mounts too when jacked up for mot and my springs are the same no issues.
I had a massive bust up with an mot tester over my engine converted extra van. Engine is 1985 carburettor gtt turbo engine...
Try a new seal and sealant it might work for a bit, i think you will have to live with that oil leak unless you get the cam cover welded or replace the head though.
I would not worry if its oil on plug thread cam cover prob leaking a little bit. Replace coil pack if its got a black terminal it will have been arcing
Still nice to see the older cars about quite a few retros in daily use near me.
My r5gtt feels tiny compared to any modern ish small car - corsa/fiesta etc. Its still a nice drive though feels raw no driver aids or nowt. I should make the effort to get it out more than a couple of times a year...
Wont airbag ecu need clearing/resetting due to the airbag firing ? I had one on clip and the airbag ecu could not be reprogrammed due to impact data stored and airbag light permanently on. Df 175 impact detected information was stored.
Normal for oil to be on the breather pipe..the pipe that goes to the left goes to the carbon canister.
If the electrode on the plug is fouled with oil the compression is probably down on that cylinder poss worn rings or whatever - compression test it and go from there. At a guess issues with...
My Kangoo has a purple polybushed dogbone (powerflex ?) Rest of the mounts are new oem mounts and no extra vibrations seems quite decent and engine feels tight when on and off the throttle.
However a couple of years ago i filled the stock dogbone mount on my 1.5dci with pu sealant and give it a...
Do the dephaser whilst doing the belts, you would be mad not to. Water pump can be done separately as it runs on the aux belt however its cheap so would do it in one hit. Also renew the aux kit if it has aircon and check the crank pulley as mine was shot.
Paintwork looks great. Gtechniq c4 permanent trim restorer is really good when applied properly if your after a long lasting oem finish. I done my dci with it and got 18months out of it before it started to fade.
The engine reliability does not really bother me, i know a well set up f4r is quite bulletproof as ran them in the meganes for a few years without issue. Its the gearbox that puts me off - ive blown up a jb3 or ten over the years and my current jc5 is knackered. The next step up to vag box is a...
This is my current dilemna to be fair. I keep thinking more power more problems enjoy it for what it is especially after years of running high maintenance turbo cars. Miss the torque though.
