Loads of cheap stuff on Edition38 usually, worth joining up for the for sale section alone tbh ...
Hopefully its nothing, if my old Trophy can get to 187k and the 330i 168k, i'm hoping that this will last a while. It better had anyway as ive sold the Clio now, so buying/selling cars will be...
I loved how 'wide' my 197 was - loved looking in the side mirrors and seeing the rear three quarters bulging outwards.
Such a shame it was slower than the Trophy, but used more fuel than the M3.
If it were me i would just flog it to a trader, they arent likely to check the forums, whereas an enthusiast owner might do.
Your numberplate is all over the internet remember...
I'm sure i will have fairly soon dont worry, xmas present maybe ...
Will have a looky to see which ones are better, the Powerflex bushes come to about £100, then the Whiteline Anti-lift kit is approx £150.
As tempting as that is, the coilovers only cost me £300, so im probably looking to...
So over the past week i've been scouring the internet for a cure to my rattling front end/slightly loose steering, & today i decided that its probably the top mounts, a cheap enough fix at circa £80 for parts + fitting. I always get carried away though, so then decided that if ive got to pull...
JMS did cambelt
Ktec fitted cams in Aug 11
TDF did the de-phaser in Oct/Nov 11
If you want a new engine, Nick172Cup has a 182 one for sale on 80k with new belts done by Stone Automotive. Circa £400 iirc.
Ok, here's some examples for you.
My Trophy was £13k new in 2005. It then did 186k miles and i got £3k or so for it. £10k depreciation. £1.4k per year/ 5.3p per mile.
My R32 was £31k brand new in 2006. Its done 98k miles and is worth circa £8k. £20k depreciation. £3.3k per year / £20.4p per...
Not really, just tryign to get as much info out of the chap as possible for others.
So far it needs the dampers doing, cambelt not done, & i expect the aux belt hasnt been done either.
Proof (as if it were necessary) that low mileage, does not necessariliy mean that a car has been looked...
Useful info as ever Mark - i do something very similar on Pistonheads. As ever though, depreciation is the factor that people forget - for reference, with its lack of depreciation at the mo, the R32 is circa 35p a mile iirc.
FLOL. I'll have you know thats £320 worth of CAD designed airbox & filter yo. Guaranteed 10bhp iirc. Yeah right.
Re: the supercharger, i'll consider it if i ever purchase a Shell fuel station, until then, i'll stick with just the 250bhp :p
Moooooore money spent  Got a puncture on the drivers front 'Semperit' so used it as a decent excuse to purchase 2 x Continental Sport Contact 3's to match the rear two. £270 later and i now have epic grip all round, wahoo!!
Currently pondering whether to spend £600 on an RNS 510 with...
Sometimes even the best things come to an end: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?663215-Failsports-High-Mileage-Shed-Trophy-(Under-New-Ownership)&p=9019496&viewfull=1#post9019496
Fingers crossed Nick will get bored on it in 6 months and i can have it back, but until then, i'd just...
Might be a nice way to welcome a new member ;)
Anyways, less of that, & more about the car. A bit like the Olympic flame, it was simply my time to pass on the legend to the next keeper - although tbh, if no-one else from FailSport had wanted it, i would have simply kept it!! My main issue was...
