I have timed mine at 6.6/6.8 (via three methods, GPS (I wrote an app to do it pretty accurately) / RST / beam breakers set to fire a dslr).
Like @Matthew says though, its all about 30-100. 0-60 is f**king pointless.
is your car blowing white smoke out the exhaust and/or have a mayonnaise type substance under the oils filler cap? If so, you may have head gasket failure. if not, then it could be leaking from the water pump, radiator, heater matirx or any of the connecting hoses.

not sure how a branch could do that if you cleared it out, thats been properly dragging on something for some time.
you can remove the belt (in its entirety), and then start the car for a short time to see if the knocking is still there. If it is, then its also caused...
hmm white smoke really is normally water vapor, but as your coolant isn't going down, this makes no sense! Does the white smoke go away when the car is warmed up? Its normal to get some white smoke from a cold engine on a cold or damp day.
