Eurofest at Castle Combe in September maybe? Could be a good day then people could go to Cepen Park just up the road for a meal/drinks at Brewers Fayre. Did mention this in the Club Forum but nobody ever replied.
Only issue is I don't know if it clashes with Renaultsport World Series, have...
This is the official list of changes/differences between the 172 and Cup...
Profile 3mm lower
Front bumper with additional lower section
Enlarged rear spoiler above hatch
Greater downforce
Revised suspension
Higher front spring rates
Firmer ride
Front track 20mm wider
New wheel rim...
Yeah GTR and GTL are on a different level with the realism, a big money PS2 game would never get that level of realism and difficulty, too risky and you would get all the "the handling is broke" comments when someone experiences huge understeer for the first time! TOCA is great as pure racing...
I personally put TOCA Race Driver 2 above GT4, it may not have the headline grabbing 700 cars or an inch perfect Nurburgring, but as a driving game it is far far superior, the AI actually has some intelligence for a start! GT4 excelled at time trials against no opponents and not much else, but...
I think this must be online somewhere but I was given a DVD today with a TOCA Race Driver 3 documentary on it, Louise Brady drives a Clio Cup round Oulton Park, then does it on TOCA 3, a few screen shots for you as I don't think many are around of the Cup's in TOCA, looks brilliant!
Thats pretty much what I started with at 17, N reg 1.2 RN in red, loved it! Got that from 60k to 110k in about 3 years, then bought a brand new Dynamique, kept that for 2 years and now I'm on the 172 Cup at 23, after a Valver now so that will be Clio number 4!
No need to do much to it to be...
Thats shocking, as much as it seems like a bad egg it also seems like you've had a rough ride with your Renault dealer too which hasn't helped, why stick with Renault?!
Car must be seriously fooked though to return consistently under 30mpg, I can get close to 40mpg in my Cup without trying...
For Janspeed I won't be going straight down the A36 into the City Centre as I guess you might be, from Westbury I will be going along the B3098 and then straight down on the A360 through Amesbury to Salisbury, much more pleasant on a Saturday morning apparently!
Incredible stuff, thats how you get a car named after you!
Considering the original audio is there its a shame they had to put music over it, why do they always do that?!
It was a bit of an excessive purchase back when I had money! Can't remember exactly but it wasn't cheap, £30 maybe, I will check my invoice later. I got the custom front mats, custom boot mat and one piece rear mat, came to about £90 I think.
Only got them all because my Cup came with...
Sunseeker Rallye is down at Bournemouth, Friday evening (24th) and all day Saturday (25th), I was going to stay for the weekend but just heading down Saturday now.

Great pics as always. You guys going to the RR day next weekend? Busy time down here, that on the 18th, Sunseeker Rallye 24th & 25th, Airfield 26th and SW meet 5th March!
Regardless of the need (I think the engine noise gives you every indication you'll really ever need) I think it could be an interesting addition, could look quite nice. For that reason alone please let us know if you manage it, and how you did it!
I'm "only" 6ft and to be honest the only problem I've had is the pedals, my feet are size 13 and there is simply no room. If you rest your left foot on the rest thing its very easy to get it stuck when trying to lift it back up to press the clutch, I've managed to figure out a way of resting it...
I need to sell my Cup but I just cannot bring myself to do it. I've decided to keep it, stay in debt and enjoy life! Future classic I say, in ten years it will just be 172 Cups and TVRs on the road without ABS or loads of electronic gubbins!
I can't see values dropping much more, £5-6k should...
Well other people have been told its a "characteristic" of the car when we've previously discussed this and therefore Renault haven't fixed it, so I assume/hope that its not actually a major problem.
I'm booking mine in to get engine and strut mounts looked at soon (may as well whilst its...
Re: Discovered my 172 is a Import
I don't think anyone has anything at all against imports to be honest. The main issue is that if you are buying an import, you should know you are buying an import. Regardless of how much you think it should be worth compared to a UK 172, they usually are...
Hehe, if the weather is anything like it is here in England at the moment the Cup can be a scary place to be! Its not frozen but its not rained for weeks and the roads are slippery as anything.
I get confused with whats what. Is the engine mounts thing the knocking when stepping off the gas at low speeds, and then the strut mounts the knocking on full lock?
I was under the impression there was only a fix for the strut knocking, not the engine knocking (at least thats what some guy...
I got 42mpg Bournemouth to Westbury (about 60 miles) in my Cup, its pretty easy to do if you really want to be economical. Average is about 33 though.
Best to work out a reading from fuel used if possible, the trip computer is a rough guide at best!
