I read a big article on running in recently in the press not too long ago and they basically said running in is not required anymore. Something about the parts already being bedded in, going too easy actually can do more harm than good if you are too cautious. Obviously dont bounce it off the...
I went to Africa for 2 weeks and just got back, when I went it was about 87p and I get back and everywhere is 92p etc, was a bit of a shock!
The Clios are very economical though so I dont worry about it too much, Ive always used Ultimate or Optimax which was costing me 95p+ per litre anyway...
4500rpm is about 40mph in 2nd and 60mph in 3rd (I checked on the way home last night) so even if the legal side of things worries you, you can lawfully take it close to the limiter in 2nd on a NSL and still be ok, just watch out for a bit of torque steer and have fun. Dont worry about fuel...
I made the mistake of buying brand new 2 years ago (it was a Clio, although it doesnt really matter what it is), £9k for a Dynamique and despite covering barely 18k in about 2 years I struggled to get £4500 for it.
I would never do it again, let someone else take the hit and get a nearly new...
I got loads of comments at work as I dont think they really believed me at first when I said what my Cup could do. Guy who I work with who is 28 was looking for a new car and wouldnt believe that whatever he kept picking would be slower than mine. Im 23 so the comments arent generally that bad...
They are cheap to buy, people get them for a year and enjoy the hell out of them then sell it on, probably due to insurance costs etc. Im only keeping mine for 1-3 years then getting a DCi, as much as I love my Cup I have things like property and family to think of in the near future.
I was following one on the M4 just past Cardiff a few weeks back and we were both cruising at about *cough* 70mph, all of a sudden he floored it, although I never bothered to try and keep up I honestly dont think I could have stuck with him, it just kept pulling and pulling.
Yep Saturday about 11am. Wasnt me you flashed, I always give anyone who remotely looks like a ClioSporter a wave so you would have noticed me (Ive not once had a reaction other than a confused do I know you? look so far though!)
Seen a few Cups about here recently, someone with a numberplate...
Deffo keep the 16s, defies the point in owning the Cup IMO if you adversely affect the performance on purpose. Best option I think is a standard refurb and re-done in white, looks fantastic.
Out of interest am I the only one who likes small wheels? Id love 15s and coilovers on my Cup! Ive seen...
Top one is bodykit, second is a real one (ruined, IMO), if you want a V6 you have to live with no back seats, there is no way you could squeeze a V6 into the front of such a small car and it would probably be horrific even if it did go.

I was thinking under the bonnet on the flat bumper bit (same bit where the plate lives), Im sure it would look good on the far right but cant quite picture it unless I take the backing off the sticker and try it. Probably best with just "172" or "CUP" though, both would be too much in a small...
Obvious point is to shop around, shop around some more, then start adjusting minute little options in the policy quote, then shop around some more.
I bought my first car above a 1.2 3 months ago (172 Cup), 23 yrs old, 5 yrs NCB, pass-plus. Quotes started off at around the £1300 mark and some...
