I've been thinking about getting my Cup in to get the knocking engine mounts done soon, I keep thinking it may not be worth the hassle and you haven't reassured me!
I lost a screw down god knows where when doing this same mod (was it a tight fit by the way, I had trouble fitting the filter in the space available), I ended up getting a coathanger, straightened it out and put uber-stong packing tape on the end of it, routed around a bit and amazingly the...
Yes drill holes in the splitter first, when you put it on you just screw up into the bodywork.
I found a little incline on my driveway which I put the front wheels on, gave me an inch or so extra to get under the car. I've known people hang it off a kerb to do it as well.
Current screws stay in, the grooves in the splitter should fit round them...
Work in progress pic here...
Basically its just a case of offering it into position, taping it on securely with masking tape (you may need to flex the splitter a bit for it to fit, this is the most important...
I would imagine quite a few will be along, it was my first time last time and I think about 12-15 cars were there...http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/gallery/1015834/1/47041908
There has been a lot of interest since then though, if you think we got 7 cars just from a mini Wiltshire meet last...
Personally I'd decide if I wanted a Cup or a FF, as surely thats the biggest decision you need to make here? Although they may seem identical at the moment, when it gets to day to day driving you will sure as hell know pretty quickly if you've made the right choice. The £3k when new difference...
Same here, it was after a blind bend and I came round the corner at about 40mph and a policeman was stood in the middle of the road with his hand up to stop me (they were still clearing it an hour or so after the incident, no warning sign or triangle anywhere though). Hit the brakes (didn't seem...
Just played through Race Driver 2 again over the past few weeks. Such a good game, shame the final Masters GP is so easy compared to everything else you have to go through though.
Any pics of the Cups? I've seen the V6 Trophy pics but not Cups. Its got Castle Combe too, wooo hooo!
If it was first registered before 1st March it would be the equivalent of a 51 plate, if it was registered between 1st March and 31st August it would be an 02 plate, if it was registered after 31st August it would be a 52 plate.
Kind of irrelevant though as I'm sure the specs are probably...
Blimey, I had to look up "nomenclature", nice word!
Anyways,
02 is a car registered between 1st March 2002 and 31 August 2002
52 is a car registered between 1st September 2002 and 28th Feb 2003
03 is a car registered between 1st March 2003 and 31 August 2003
53 is a car registered...
Anyone got a ballpark figure for a refurb and colour? I've been thinking about going with white if I do keep my Cup but have no idea of the sort of cost involved.
5th or 12th of Feb is fine by me. Could always do a run to Cheddar if it doesn't look like too many will be coming along, or head out to a coastal area if we get a few more.
12th Feb? 1st Sunday in March?! Not bothered really, anywhen when a fair few peeps who want to come along can make it, even that Black 172 with swirl marks :rasp:
TomS is organising an official South West meet soon so maybe its best to wait to see when that is/what is being organised, but if we want to do a similar sort of mini-meet but heading down to the coast and make a day of it then that sounds good too.
I dunno, Sunday 19th Feb?
I'm doing the rolling road day in Salisbury on the Sat 18th Feb, and the Airfield on Sun Feb 26th, but apart from that I'm fine anywhen. Someone pick a date and I'm in!
Are we thinking Feb somewhen or early March?
It would be wickedly busy on the roads! I know a few good backroads around Devon/Cornwall but even they get fairly busy in the peak months. A nice weekend in May or September or someone a bit quieter would be good.
Great idea though, we could certainly cover some good ground over a weekend...
Test Mule!!!! Some people seem to have missed that.
It means its a standard MK3 with the engine from the Renaultsport and a few other bits added on. Certainly nothing to get worried about, if you look through the various pics of Dieppe on here and elsewhere you will see some very odd stuff...
It would the biggest attended CS meet ever!
But yeah another meet in the not too distant future would be cool. Anywhere else relatively local we could go that we didn't do today? Would be hard to top Longleat House and permission to photograph from the Lord Bath himself (well, one of his...
You'll note the areas in the shade are facing the other direction to me, so I was indeed taking a pic out towards the lake, away from the er, young 'lightly-dressed' females.
Thats what I'll tell the courts anyway :o
