ESD tends to lead to partial damage, which can then cause premature failure of the component (if you're lucky) or worse cause an intermittent issue that you're unlikely to diagnose as a hardware fault.
Just the part appears to function correctly immediately, doesn't mean you haven't damaged it.
The drift camera should have come with 2 battery covers, one solid plastic and one with rubber covers over the connections to connect a mic or usb cable. You need to use the latter to expose the connectors.
I must have been drunk when i replied, as I was talking about using an external mic with the drift rather than recording audio separately.
I have a ghost and this - http://actioncameras.co.uk/drift-3-5-mm-external-microphone, you'd have to call for one for yours as I can't see them online. It's...
It's worth looking into Fibre to the mast (FTTM), I have a friend in Lancashire who has it through a company called Boundless but there are a number of companies offering such a service now I believe in other areas.
Does it have better battery life?
Doubt it, I'm out.
I'd be happy with 3GS functionality and a battery that lasts a genuine 2 days of use rather than 8 hours and a load of s**t features i don't need, and I don't want a big phone, the 6 is as big as i'd go, but tbh I'm happier with the 5S size I...
My car has been standing the last 2 weeks, blew the cobwebs off today (quite literally) and got some fuel and put air in the tyres for tomorrow. Should be good :)
As above, the drift mics are really good and cost about £15 iirc. Be careful as I'm pretty sure the connector changed when the ghost came out so make sure whatever you buy is compatible.
Thanks, the impact was light so I don't think there is any damage to him but the van will need repairing and he's self employed so it'll cost time wise.
The video won't even open in Quicktime, tried vlc too and nothing. I tried the tool you linked to yesterday but nothing :(
I think he's going...
So my friend had an accident tonight, not his fault, and it was all caught on his dash cam, or so he thought.
The dash cam appears to film lots of 1 minute clips, we have the minute before the accident, but the clip of the accident is corrupt. So essentially I have a reference file and the...
The opposite is true ime. We had BT Inifiniti (back when it first came out), p2p was basically pointless at anytime other than the early hours. Now with Plusnet fibre at both my rented house and my parents house, both get full speed p2p whatever the time, have BT changed their policies recently...
Is that an official apple centre or an authorised one?
IME the authorised ones have virtually no flexibility when it comes to repairs that aren't clear cut warranty cases.
Also did they not do the graphics test in front of you, doesn't take long and immediately tells you if the GPU is definitely...
Sounds similar.
I had a few display issues, such as broken up large squares, and the screen becoming shifted about 30% so 30% of the right had shifted to the left side. A reboot would always sort the issue temporarily, but sometimes it wouldn't even boot into the OS without first going into...
As said, buy through student and prices are comparable to refurbs, you get a new latest model, and 3 years applecare.
Personally I'd avoid the new Macbook, poor connectivity and imo poor spec.
You don't sound like you need high performance so I recommend going for a 13" air as a do it all...
Bit late to the party, but I was the first Trophy owner to approach CF and get a set refurbished.
I can't comment on longevity as I sold the car 4 months/1k miles later but they did say they have a good relationship with BG (at least back then) and that the parts were sourced from them as you say.
PM @Perrinho (aka phuzion) and see what he has, buy it, be happy, and spend the £100 change on takeaways and beer.
Otherwise, I'd be looking at something like this -...
