The centre hole offset is too deep, thus the disc wont sit central of the carrier. You could try putting a shim on the hub, but I don't recommend it. The other option is to file down the carrier. TBH I would have stuck with the Brembo HC discs as they are very good for the job.
Also, just...
If its second hand, remember to get it unlocked first before trying to flash your car else it wont work :) You will also need to purchase a map from fastchip that is matched to your cars ECU.
that's not his situation. He is trying to buy the unlock code but cant as the firmware is outdated on the VCI. The older VCI's are NOT updatable via the software and needs to be sent back to fastchip as advised. I think update via software started somewhere after fw181 iirc. To give you an idea...
buy an old digital point n shoot. take it apart and remove the ir filter in front of the sensor. I did it with my Fujifilm F11. Coupe with a IR LED light source, its does pretty good night vision + you can get some very cool IR shots during the day.
excellent work chaski :)
Brian, jon_r, Nik - any chance of making this thread a sticky so we don't have to search for it each time our fingers are all dirty? :) thanks.

Had a closer look today and the clip is about 1mm away from the block, so i'm not happy with that. Thanks to Fred@BTM & @Dan for pointing that out. Also there is slight knocking on hard lock, so it could also be too short. hopefully Renparts will be able to sort me out :)
Thanks Josh, If it works and the seal bit i'm talking about is not an issue (i.e its not going to let dirt/grit etc into the diff and cause damage), then I will just leave it on. I will be doing the full lock test once I sort the steering and checking the clip isn't hitting the engine block as...
lol thanks. Last time I did that side (on my mk1), I forgot to put the supporting ring inside the boot and it did just that lol. I'll try not to let that happen again!
Ok thanks guys. I will check the clip tomorrow when I (try) and release the tie rod end locking nut which is also frozen and being a pain.
What would the symptoms be if the shaft was too short? Like I said, its not a oe shaft (its made by shaftec) (which is really annoying as that's the reason...
ok thanks I will check the clip isn't hitting the block. So the rubber bit i'm talking about in the pics above, whats it for if not to seal a bearing etc? Does it serve any purpose? I have tried to find other pics of where it sits on other clio's but so far haven't found any.
Thanks Fred & Chip. Here are a couple of stills from the video showing what I mean. basically the little rubber seal at the end has to be pushed past its locating ring on the shaft as if the shaft isn't long enough? I guess this seal keeps dirt/crap out of a bearing?
Hope someone can confirm this for me. I have just fitted a new RH driveshaft to my 182 (cup packed), it not an OE driveshaft but was sent to me from Renparts as coming off a 182 cup. However, the rubber seal on the end needs to be pushed about 5mm past its locating point to make a seal, which...
Thanks everyone for your kind words, i don't deserve them though. I could have made her life so much easier for her over her last few months, but for some reason I thought work was more important. i'm disgusted with myself.
looks like the burial will be on or around the 19th, so I will probably...
Clutch release / Thrust bearing are the same thing (the bearing that pushes on the clutch springs by force from a metal fork), input shaft bearings is (1) part of the crankshaft and is a big job to replace iirc, and (2)at the other end inside the gearbox (but if that had gone you would probably...
Have you considered letting it get worse to see if it becomes more obvious as to where its coming from? if it is the thrust bearing, then it wont hurt to be left a little longer. Mine went through a process of first squeaking like a bunch of baby birds and then to a constant chatter without a...
there's little else i could be at that end. Clutch release bearing or input shaft bearing are the only 2 I can think of the aren't covered in oil and would make that noise. Like I said before though in post #10, you can normally tell by pressing the clutch pedal as the noise generally goes away...
Other things it could be is a loose gearbox mount bolt, exhaust or something with the starter setup. Have you tried rocking the engine with the engine off to see if it makes the noise?
I can +1 this as its the same as I used on mine (ASH 70mm 90degree). The ASH comes off after a few polishes but other than that its spot on.
MrTom, looks like yours is placed quite deep inside the cone filter though? any reason for that other than looks preference that I don't know about? (i.e...
car looks tidy. looks a bit odd though as all the pictures are a bit squashed.
-edit, just refreshed the page and they look alright now. Must have been a rendering glitch in my browser first time around.
