As silly as it sounds, a remap and strippage has significantly increased my fuel economy.
Driving fairly sensibly before returned about 290-300 miles a tank. Now I can get 340ish.
The safest minimum speed I use is 1/60th. Anything below that and I start to throw away quite a few photos. Stay at around 1/100th and you should be fine :)
Constructive comment - I would learn to get sharper pics at faster shutter speeds rather than trying really low shutter speed shots like you've done.
Only a couple of those panning shots are sharp :(

I was meant to be going to Abu Dhabi, but that has been postponed, but Ive got a trip to Norway, then possibly Czech Republic after.

And would the ring be using the north or south loop?
The thing that really gets me irritated about those sorts of photographers is that they sit on one corner, with the camera set-up to a large aperture (so fast shutter speed) and just click each car as it comes past.

As for the photos, what do you expect from the local track photographer, they just stand in boring places racking of crappy photos just like that.
But it's better than nothing!
