The D200 is tricky, there's a few on ebay for £400+ The lenses are a bit easier. The 12-24mm is almost £800 new! It's in mint condition, so would be expecting around £400 The 18-200mm VR lens is around 500 new, so would expect £300-350ish. So I would be selling all that for a lens basically...

^ Yeh I know! Unbelievable! Also, I think I MAY be selling my DX Nikon D200 and lenses. I could really do with a full frame wide angle lens, but the one I would like is £1k+ :( Im about 80% sure I will sell them, but I want to be certain before I make any rash decisions!

I borrowed a Spyder from work and calibrated my monitor a while ago. Tbh, it didnt need that much calibration, I think it made the colours slightly warmer.

The slower the shutter speed, the more blur. But increases the chance of camera shake too, so everything is blurry, even the car.

Yeh drifting is the best sport for panning. You can get some awesome results if you can shoot at silly low shutter speeds!

Sounds good, we REALLY need some more exciting locations near us. I'm getting tired of car parks and industrial estates! ;)

A few reasons - Higher fps - I do motorsport photography too, so that will help. Larger camera with better battery as standard - If I got the D700 I would have to get the battery grip and battery as I hate the smaller style cameras, so that would eat into the cost differences. There are more...

The macro shots were a Nikon 60mm f/2.8. The lens I use 90% of the time though is the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 - utterly amazing lens!

No noise reduction. I never use the in camera noise reduction anyway. I think it's more designed for very long exposures as well.

Great shots - however all of them, apart from the last two and the one of the black clio, are really underexposed. Killer scenery! I'd love to do a shoot round there one day!

Yeh the D3s does look good from what I have read, BUT for a start it's almost £1200 more that the D3 at the moment. The RRP is £4200! :S I came very close to waiting to get one, when the price came down a bit, but I can't see the advantages being that significant tbh. And I will be deciding...

Well I was hoping to go out today and play with the new D3, but the weather is really crap, not raining...just really overcast with horrible flat lighting :( So I did a few macro shots, and then did a few tests on the ISO performance - which is astonishing!! And this is what you see if...

The D3x is a 25mp studio style camera, I think there a few other differences too, but I didnt look into it too much as I couldnt afford £5k!

Yeh it has to be pretty strong - especially when you have £3k+ of camera hanging off the end too! As you say, the rig is then photoshopped out - so hopefully you won't notice. But some shots make this harder than others, these were relatively easy.

Much better! The car really stands out in these photos. The only thing I can say is you might have to start fine tuning the placement of the flashes to avoid the hotspots that are on some photos, for example in the first three photos, there's a hotspot on the left of the bumper. You just have...

I have had a play with the D700 before, we actually use them at work so I've borrowed some before. One of the reasons I didnt go for a D700 is because I can't stand using the 'smaller style' cameras. I would have to get the battery grip and extra battery, which would eat into the cost...

Don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading though. There are people who will buy the lastest gear thinking it will make them better. Its rubbish - it's the person behind the camera that makes a shot, not the camera. But that's not to say the newer gear makes getting 'that shot' much easier...
