I know how you feel. A Nikon D70s was my first SLR camera, it was amazing. But, as new cameras come out, you realise how even minor upgrades really would help. One example is the D70s had a tiny (but very good) LCD screen on the rear, the D3 has a 3" screen. It's soooo much better for reviewing...
Thanks again :)
Well I think I deserve it now, I really want to take my photography to the 'next level', and the D3 will make things a bit easier I feel.
Here's another:
This evening I met up with Mark (M4rkie23) to shoot his 172 again, as he's made a few changes, and I wanted to get some more rig shots in some newly discovered locations.
But mainly it was to play with my new toy, a Nikon D3 camera :)
HOWEVER, due to a c**k up with the delivery people...
Hi James,
Pretty good for a first attempt. Before I get onto the lighting, watch your compositions. Try to avoid placing the car in the dead centre of the frame, remember the rule of thirds :)
To be fair, you didnt have the easiest of the conditions with the sun that bright, that's where you...
No magic arm, they're too heavy (for me). I use a superclamp at each suction mount, and one where the camera attaches to the rig too.
SB-800 set on SU-4 mode.
Yeh I was thinking if the weather was the same as it was when we were there, static shots should look really good. But we havent been...
No worries. Yeh it sounds promising, just hope we can get access to them :)
Glad you like them, the rig shots were a bit rushed, but the shots came out pretty well.
Those locations were pretty good, we may have to re-visit them one day when we have a bit more time :)
Met up with Rocky99 on the forum for a local photoshoot. We went scouting for places to go yesterday, we tried the Gloucester Business Park, it looked awesome, very good potential for shots, but we were told by security that no photos were allowed :(
We did have a few places to go, so we met up...
Yep, two 500W flashes, and I also use my SB800 to 'fill in' parts as well.
I work for a company that manufacture Forensic equipment, one line of products they do are Forensic light sources, for crime scene examination.
One particular product is PERFECT for this lighting, its very powerful...
Met up with a guy with a mint R32 today for a shoot, really looked forward to this :)
So we arranged a shoot around Bristol, HOWEVER, the weather was bloody awful! The one good place was a place under a road (so it was dry!), everytime we tried to go anywhere else it pissed it down!
In the end...
Thanks for posting mine wolf.
Like you Revels, I wanted something EXTREMELY simple, nothing flashy (but still in flash ;))
I am very happy with what I came up with, as it's just for viewing photos, I think it does the job effectively.
It is only simpleviewer, but you can customise it to take...
That set-up is very good, and is thoroughly recommended, but the pads may be a bit overkill for road use only, and the lines too.
If you're doing just road use (no track action), you should be ok with lower spec pads, perhaps the Ferodo DS pads?
That seems right if you want crap.
Tbh, when it comes to brakes you really dont want to buy cheap s**t.
Brembo HC discs - about £56
Pads are a bit trickier as you can spend anything, but you get what you pay for!
Halfords pads are cheap, but then they would be!
^ Ah soz,
Ive been in Argentina for a week, just arrive back yesterday night, so havent really been on the forums much.
I might give you a call later on today if thats ok, after the F1 repeat?
