Newbie - no clio but renault under the hood

Welcome. Firstly.. why not buy a faster car ? Secondly.. what's it putting out at the moment.. 100hp ? So, you're allowed to go to 125hp without telling insurance ? What happens if it's 126 or 130hp ? How would they know !? Do you have to "prove" it with a rolling road print out because...

    Changing alloys on Clio Campus

You're quoting the size of the tyre. What's the offset and width of the new ones vs the old ones ? That's probably your problem..

    2002 172ph2 - Something missing here...?

Good grief. Did someone open the bonnet and just pour litres of oil all over the bay ?!

Anyone give me an idea of parts cost from Renault - 197 just been hit up the back

Maybe the offending party had just set up his own insurance company but hadn't got any money in yet....

    Cambelt/ water pump/ pulley £1k?!

£1600 worth of work ? Ouch ! Put it up at £1500 and get it gone.. Should have given it away before you started the work haha ! Or triple the price and cover the advert in red arrows / circles and incomprehensible nonsense. You could raffle it off... print 500 tickets at £10 each... add a...

Anyone give me an idea of parts cost from Renault - 197 just been hit up the back

WTF. If this was a car-park scrape, you could get a bumper painted for ~£300 and move on with life... maybe. However... Bent rear floor and a-surface of rear bodywork, probably a broken exhaust, who knows what else is busted (suspension, wiring, structural parts) that you can't see...?! Go...

What to buy to bring back the fun

This. Or hire a shitty van for the weekend. Clio will feel like a F1 car after that.

    Exhaust to loud

What is it making (dB) static at track..? As above though.. put the cat back in.. easier on the ears and the MOT ;)

(Advice) 1.5 Dci GT Tuning Chip

Who on earth are you getting your advice from. 105 to 140hp from just a 'chip' seems a bit far fetched. Why would you need new brakes ? If you're going to "need new brakes" and "damage the clutch" why would you consider doing it ? Advice: Buy a faster car.

    Sensor for climate control

@STEVE.M is usually sh*t hot with stuff like this.. Anyone else got a pic of the inside of their console !? Why would you want to remove your a/c... if it's 25C outside, what temperature do you think the air coming in from outside, and then into the cabin will be...? If it's only blowing...

Cracking stuff ( see pic )

I really really can't fathom this logic. The front wheels do the steering, most of the braking and carry most of the load on a FWD such as a Clio. The rear wheels basically as Brendan said, are coasters to keep the bumper off the tarmac. Putting some R888s on the rears and some 15 year old...

    Spray bottle for tar remover.

Just use a little at a time and use it all / rinse it out - don't leave any in the spray bottle. Solvents will eat plastic/rubber.. hence why it gets delivered in a metal container.
