    CSS15 feedback thread

I can honestly say it was an epic weekend. Good people, good banter, lots if beer and meat, a track day... What more could we ask for??

Your exhaust says Akrapovic.... That's very not cheap!

    "Typical French car"

SJM is Dan Potter. Very nice man and a great mechanic. @Dan@SJM

    "Typical French car"

I'd suggest that first things first, you need to find yourself a specialist mechanic on here that's local-ish to you. £395 to supply and fit an alternator is robbery.

heavy rain drainage concern clio 182

Take the wiper arms off, remove the black plastic trims that sit on there (scuttle panel) and you will see the washer bottle. Look underneath that for leaves/dirt/crap and you'll see drain holes bunged up.

Generic bucket seats £130 a pair - any good?

How would these hold up in a crash? Scrimping on seats and harnesses seems mental to me.

1.9 dci lacking low down torque/power, RR graph included

Map sensors are quite common to fail on them.

    'Friendly' MOT Garage? - Wirral

Not necessarily. Main dealers do it too., It's all about the £20 note on the ashtray.

Hate when someone asks what car do you have?

I have to tell people I drive a Renault Modus. Diesel. Zero f***s.

    Anybody recognise 'm991 cgo'

No I sold it. I couldn't face leaving it outside to get rained on/damaged after I did all that to it. There's a mk1 Clio Facebook page, every month or so one crops up but they're thin in the ground now. Old French wiring and very rusty metal saw to that. :-(

I don't know what flyeye is but it sounds s**t.

I did a resto thread on here. Search 'Naples restoration man'

I had M396CGO. That was Naples too. Completely irrelevant to your query but I thought I'd share.

    Satin black grill help

I don't mean to sound rude, but wtf have you done?? I just wiped mine with alcohol (IPA) and sprayed 2 coats of satin black on it, came up like new! Lol.

That must be an impressive sausage. I've seen your woman! (And insulted her, for which I am eternally remorseful)

    New engine needed :(

I'd only buy an engine from a long term member in here, or Josh @ Renparts. I don't trust car dismantlers anymore than I'd trust a pikey to Tarmac my driveway.

Think this will be a write off?

When I had this issue, I printed off adverts of near identical cars and sent them to the insurance with a letter saying £xxxx is what I'll need to replace my car. They paid out. They actually paid more than I'd hoped for too.

Why is everyone saying the dealer cannot tax it?? Of course he can.

    The New Beast

They're nowhere near as reliable as the 1.9. Not even in the same ball park! That said, I have seen plenty with 160+k on them.

I love these! Especially in 5 door. Best gearbox and best colour too. I approve. (Please keep the wheels silver...)
